The educational, health and workforce needs of marginalised girls and young women in Asia are a pressing social issue. Dive into the current programs and history of EMpower, The Emerging Markets Foundation, which funds and collaborates with local organizations resolving these problems.


Bring your questions and consider how you individually, and your firm, may address these social issues through philanthropy and volunteer activity.

Henna Hemnani

Senior Development Manager, Asia, EMpower


Henna Hemnani is EMpower’s Senior Development Manager for Asia, working on building impactful partnerships, collectives and relationships in the region. Prior to joining EMpower, she worked as a Junior Portfolio Manager in the asset management industry. Henna holds a BSc in Physics from Bristol University and is a CFA charterholder.


Avon Neo

Managing Director, Nomura


Avon Neo joined EMpower’s Hong Kong Board in 2022 and is our newest Director in the region. Avon is also a Managing Director at Nomura. Avon is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and is motivated by the impact young people can make in their communities, society, and the world at large when provided with a safe environment where they can thrive.


Lillian Wang

Impact and ESG Specialist, Arisaig Partners


Lilian is an experienced impact measurement and management specialist, dedicated to helping achieve positive impact through sustainable private sector development. She brings over 16 years of professional experience working with the private, public and third sector organisations in relation to emerging markets impact, covering issues such as healthcare, education, and climate change. Lilian has degrees in Mathematics and Environmental Economics, and is a chartered accountant.


Ashlesha Vaishampayan

VP Consultant Relations Asia & Co-Chair 100 Women in Finance Singapore, T. Rowe Price


Ashlesha is a Vice President at T. Rowe Price Singapore and leads the firm’s consultant relations efforts in Asia. She joined T. Rowe Price from Russell Investments in 2019, where she was a Senior Manager for Russell's UK Institutional business. She started her asset management career in 2013 in London at Schroders on their graduate scheme. Ashlesha is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, holds an honours degree in Classics from King’s College London, and was featured as #7 in the Financial Times’ ’50 Female Future Leaders’ list in 2018. She co-chairs 100 Women in Finance’s Singapore chapter.
