ABOUT
EU Commission
Launched in November 2014, the Investment Plan for Europe is the EU's response to reverse the adverse impact of the economic and financial crisis. It has the potential to bring investments back in line with its historical trends. The investment plan focuses on removing obstacles to investment, providing visibility and technical assistance to investment projects and making smarter use of new and existing financial resources. At the heart of the investment plan is the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) which is expected to trigger €315 billion in total new investment by 2018. EFSI aims to overcome current market failures by addressing market gaps and mobilising private investment, thereby helping to finance infrastructure and innovation projects as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-cap companies.
