Dear Argus Farm Stop Community,
Can you believe it? Argus Farm Stop is celebrating our 10th anniversary this August! It's been an incredible journey since we first opened our doors at 325 W Liberty St. in 2014. Thanks to your unwavering support, we've been able to grow from a converted gas station on the West Side of Ann Arbor to a thriving hub for local food and community across three locations. Together, we've nurtured the local food economy, creating a place where local producers can have a spot to sell their goods seven days a week at rates that support them.
We are filled with gratitude for the progress we've made with your help.
- We've grown our farmer and producer base from 40 to 250, adding unique Michigan-made products like chestnuts and cranberries.
- We started our Weekly Produce Box Subscription, monthly Local Cuts Club, and Weekly Flower subscriptions to make shopping from local producers even easier.
- We've sold over $225,000 of local produce and meat to restaurants, and we are now working with local schools.
- We work with SNAP & DUFB programs to provide healthy, accessible local food.
- When it's all tallied up, we've paid over $21 million back to local producers, helping to grow our local agricultural economy.
Of course, we couldn't have done it without the care and support from all of you, our community of friends and neighbors who we know and love. Thank you for helping us make the dream of a vibrant local food economy a reality.
Here’s to another decade of growth, community, and delicious local food! With heartfelt thanks,
Bill, Kathy, Laura, and everyone at Argus Farm Stop

Celebrate with us on August 17!
We invite you to join us for our anniversary celebrations on Saturday, August 17th, from 5 PM to 8:30 PM.
At our Liberty location, join Bill & Kathy and many of your local producers for an afternoon of celebration where it all started. Enjoy food and drink, test your knowledge with Argus Farm Stop trivia hosted by our friend Terry, and take the opportunity to meet the farmers who make it all possible. We'll have happy hour discounts on beer and wine all night!
Over at our Packard location, we're bringing the block together! Savor delicious offerings from Side Biscuit and Toarmina's Pizza & Burritos, relax with a massage from Relax Station, and explore a Buddhist temple garden tour at 5:30 PM. At 7 PM, Tony Pinell will fill the air with live music. We'll have Happy Hour discounts on our tavern offerings of course, as well as ice cream specials!
These celebrations are our way of saying thank you. Thank you for believing in us, supporting local producers, and being a vital part of the Argus family. We couldn’t have reached this milestone without you.

"Building community and connection within our food system is important. It has been wonderful getting to know our neighbors and our farms. Introducing farmers to the customers who are buying their products is one of our favorite aspects of Argus. We have enjoyed these past 10 years tremendously! We look forward to the future!"
-Kathy Sample, with Bill Brinkerhoff, Argus Farm Stop Founders & Owners

"I really enjoy seeing the connection of people and food and finance coming together in a really honest and genuine way. You come into Argus and you buy a carton of eggs and the person who helped produce those eggs is standing at the counter with you, getting a cup of coffee, and says 'oh hey, those are my eggs' and you end up in a conversation. Not only do you learn about your food, you're connected to your community in such a meaningful way."
-Laura Matney, Argus Farm Stop General Manager

"It's been huge for us working with Argus. Selling at the market, through the CSA, connecting with other growers through Argus, whether we meet with them at drop-off or at events. Farmer Beer Night has been huge to network with other farmers, growers, and sellers."
-Seth Schmiedeknecht, Good Neighbor Farm

We started our Weekly Produce Box subscription in 2020. Subscriptions to our box became so large we had to find a bigger store to pack all the orders! This is a great way for farmers to reach more consumers.
- We have packed over 35,000 boxes since the project began 4 years ago.
- We partner with the Farm to Family CSA and University of Michigan's MHealthy programming to increase access to fresh food from our local Michigan farms.
- We deliver to all of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.

We are fortunate to work with the best small meat farmers in the state of Michigan. Our farmers humanely raise their livestock and give great care to the land they raise on. In June 2023, we launched our Local Cuts Club to support their great work. We create a monthly curation of essential and unique cuts for our subscribers.
- We've packed over 400 orders since last June of our small and large shares.
- This has converted to more than $17,000 going back to our meat farmers.

|
We started our Weekly Flower Subscription in 2022 to support our talented (and growing) community of local flower growers and bouquet creators. This has provided many flower farmers a consistent and predictable revenue stream that can help them reinvest into their farming efforts.
- We've distributed over 1,500 flower bouquets since starting our subscription.
- We've paid back $21,000 to local florists and flower farmers.

Our food hub has provided many restaurants and organizations with local food, stretching the local food economy to new streams.
