MacLachlan, Cornelius & Filoni Architects, Inc. design team created an incredible vision for an open, modern office floor plan including unique craftsmanship and finishes in the historic Frick Building located in downtown Pittsburgh.
Fun Fact: Using the Chicago Grid System, the Shannon craftsmen ripped random wood floor planks then blind fastened each plank; the fasteners are completely hidden from view. This requires the installer to start the wood from one direction and finish at the opposite end to fasten. The hardwood panels weighed about 3 lbs per square foot and required a 3/4" plywood blocking.
The new system required three times as many ceiling hangers as would a standard ceiling. With a plaster base ceiling the acoustical toggles were used as hanger support. Our craftsmen safely and expertly installed the over 6,500 lb ceiling. More>>>
