All Saints Sunday Celebration | |

Today’s observation of All Saints Sunday provides us with the opportunity to remember the loved ones who have gone before us, to renew our baptismal vows, and also welcome the newest members of the church through baptism at 10 a.m.
Baptismal Candidates are: Catherine James Ward, daughter of Blair and Dustin Ward Daniel Thibaut O’Neill, son of Cherisse Thibaut O’Neill and Daniel Weddell O’Neill, and grandson of Michael and Liz Gibbons Join us in a celebration of our baptismal candidates in the parish hall after the 10 a.m. service.

All Saints Remembrances
November 6 at 9 a.m.
At both services, we will pray for those who died this past year, those interred in the Grace Church Columbarium and those loved ones we have lost throughout our lives.
Join this moving Service of Remembrance will be held in the Memorial Garden at 9 a.m. today.

First Sundays at 5
November 6 at 5 p.m.
Worshipers gather around the baptismal font in candlelight to explore their faith in a different setting. This worship experience is designed to calm our senses with candlelight, soft music and a time alone with God.
We will commemorate the saints, and faithful departed. Parishioners are invited to light candles to commemorate their family and friends who have gone before us. Come and join us for this peaceful and moving service.

More Than Enough
Blessed are the Poor

Jesus had a soft spot for the poor. It might be fair to say he preferred the poor. Poverty exists everywhere, you needn’t go to a “developing nation” to find it. It’s down your block. Don’t think so? You’re likely not looking hard enough. Here, Jesus
challenges us to look. Because he tells the poor, and the hungry, “I see you, and yours is coming.”

Funeral Planning:
A Gift for Those Who Remain.
Sunday, November 13 - 11:30 a.m.
There will come a time when we die and others will have the task of planning for the celebration of our life. A great gift that we can give is to let them know our own wishes for our funeral service.

The Rev. Thomas Skillings, The Rev. Mary Haggerty and Phillip Brunswick will lead this session to help ensure that you have the knowledge and comfort for your loved ones that your Burial Service will reflect your faith and wishes.
This session is limited to 20 people and registration is required. You can register by signing the sheet in the Parish Hall or by calling Phillip at 314-821-1806 x21. Please note that another session will be offered later in the year.

Docent-led Art Museum Tour with
Grace on the Go
At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, Grace on the go is privileged to have a docent-guided tour of Global Threads: The Art and Fashion of Indian Chintz at the Saint Louis Art Museum. Over several centuries, Indian artisans perfected complex methods for creating painted and printed cloth in a spectrum of fade-resistant colors. This collection, largely drawn from the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, also features works from private collections and complementary objects from our museum.
Sign up in the Parish Hall for the tour and lunch at Panorama at 11:30; also sign up to offer a ride or be driven. The exhibit fee is $10 for seniors, payable in advance. Members are free; be sure to mark your membership on the sign-up form. Car pools will leave Grace at 9:15 am. Parking is available in the museum’s garage for $15 or free at street level in parking lots on either side of Art Hill.

Butter Braids Are Back!

Fundraiser for the Youth Mission Trip.
Butter Braids are back for the Holiday season! Grace Youth will be selling Butter Braids after the 10 a.m. service. Not only are they offering the traditional filled butter braid pastries, but you can also order rolls, herb bread, pizzas and cookie dough. Everything is frozen and ready to bake!
As a bonus, to donate to the Christmas Cookie sale, you may purchase the dough and the youth group will take care of the baking for you!
Ordering is simple. Just click on the link below to order and pay.
If you prefer you may place an order after the 10 a.m. service on November 6. Checks may be made payable to “Grace Episcopal Church Youth Mission Trip. Note: these orders are for local pick-up only. The deadline for ordering is November 6!
Orders may be picked up at Grace on Thursday, November 17 from 6 until 7 p.m. or on Sunday, November 19 after the 10 a.m. service.

Christmas Cookie Sale
The high school youth group and mission trip participants will have a Christmas cookie sale on Saturday, December 10, at
9 a.m. at Grace.
Can you please make six dozen cookies for the event and drop them off at Grace on December 8 or 9? Pick-up is available if you can’t drop your cookies off. You may drop off frozen dough any day before December 4, and we'll bake the cookies for you. Donations for the high schoolers are accepted to make a batch on your behalf.
Email Joanie Van Rees by November 6 if you would like to make 6 dozen cookies, donate dough to make six dozen cookies, or donate money for the youth to make six dozen cookies. You may also sign up in Parish Hall.

Pastoral Care
In case of a pastoral emergency, please call the parish office at 314-821-1806. For pastoral emergencies after office hours, call the parish office and press "7" to be connected to the priest-on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In case of severe illness, hospitalization, when a person is near death or at the death of a member of the church, please notify the clergy as soon as possible in order to secure the ministrations of the church.

Transition Prayer
Almighty God, who knows our needs even before we ask, grant us a spirit of faith and courage, that we may have the strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; look graciously on this parish family and send forth your Holy Spirit to guide us to be of one heart and mind, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
