We are excited to announce the University of Windsor EPICentre’s 2023 RBC EPIC Founders Cohort! This intensive 12-week accelerator program is designed for early-stage founders eager to learn how to build a viable startup business model.

On May 26th, the University of Windsor’s EPICentre, in collaboration with Libro Credit Union, held the highly anticipated Social Enterprise Coaching Pitch Competition. The event showcased nine aspiring social entrepreneurs’ hard work and innovative ideas.

Aaron Mavrinac is a co-founder and VP of software development company Opreto. Born and raised in Windsor, his technical career has spanned over two decades and run the gamut from electronics and embedded systems to pure software, mostly in industrial automation and autonomous vehicles. He completed a Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the University of Windsor in 2012, specializing in artificial perception.

This workshop covers a comprehensive look at the basics of 3D printing. No experience necessary!! Participants will leave with an understanding of various technologies on the current market and what kind of tech is readily available to them. The idea of how, when, and why 3D printing should be and is being used will be clearly defined. Finally, participants will walk through the entire 3D printing process, giving them the confidence to start their own projects in their homes, school, or even industries.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with these softwares and utilize them to create parts of their own. This will lead to discussions on 3D modeling techniques and best practices. Finally, participants will be introduced to a slicing software which is the last stage before the printing process. For a better experience, participants are recommended to bring their own laptops.
