Thomas: 'We Cannot Continue Blinking...'
PLI Starts July 8; Terri Schiavo's Brother to Speak
Last week, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said, "We cannot continue blinking the reality of what this Court has wrought" when it comes to 46 years of legalized abortion. As we approach Independence Day, when freedom and justice should have been secured for all Americans, not just some, I pray Justice Thomas' words will change the stance of his colleagues on the Supreme Court.

But we cannot wait for the court. Our students know that change must start at the grassroots level. They will gather on July 8 outside Baton Rouge for our PULSE Leadership Institute to train in pro-life activism and leadership.

P.S. If you are in the Baton Rouge area, please join us next Wednesday as we hear from Bobby Schindler, the brother of Terri Schiavo, about why Terri's life still matters. Free and open to the public! Learn more.

Studies show that 95 percent of women who enter a pregnancy center choose life. But even with more than 30 pregnancy resource centers in Louisiana, 22 women a day still choose abortion. That is why Louisiana Right to Life's Advertise for Life project is so important! The Advertise for Life project operates through the ADifficultChoice.com website and uses targeted online advertising to reach abortion-minded women and men and direct them to one of the state's pregnancy centers. This year to date, our pregnancy center partners have helped approximately 20 mothers who initially sought an abortion choose life for their babies.

More than 800 pro-life women flooded our city to stand for the dignity of all human life at the fourth Pro-Life Women's Conference, held recently at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. It was a refreshing retreat for Louisiana Right to Life intern Taylor Gautreaux, who enjoyed meeting women from across the country and beyond.
The Supreme Court has denied Alabama's petition to review a decision that overturned that state’s ban on the dismemberment of living unborn babies. While Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas concurred with the decision not to hear the appeal, he said: "This case serves as a stark reminder that our abortion jurisprudence has spiraled out of control."
Baton Rouge area friends, please make plans to join Louisiana Right to Life for a powerful talk by Bobby Schindler, brother of the late Terri Schindler Schiavo, on July 10 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Terri Schiavo's life still matters today, and we must remember her by protecting people who are medically vulnerable from abuse.
