Liza García Vélez se reunieron en COR3 con su Director Ejecutivo, Manuel A.J. Laboy, PE, MBA, para coordinar esfuerzos en Washington DC. Se acordó un plan de acción y colaboración para continuar el progreso de la reconstrucción en toda la isla.

Proposed CHIPS Investment in Arizona Would Support AI, High-Performance Computing, 5G/6G Communications, and More Applications
Today, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce and TSMC Arizona Corporation (TSMC Arizona), a subsidiary of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC), have signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) to provide up to $6.6 billion in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act. This proposed funding would support TSMC’s investment of more than $65 billion in three greenfield leading-edge fabs in Phoenix, Arizona, which will manufacture the world’s most advanced semiconductors.

Approaches to Address AI-enabled Voice Cloning
Today, the FTC announced four winners of the Voice Cloning Challenge, which was launched to address the present and emerging harms of artificial intelligence, or “AI”-enabled voice cloning technologies. The FTC received submissions from a wide range of individuals, teams, and organizations. The winners are outlined in the press release and on the Challenge website. The agency called for ideas that addressed at least one of the following three approaches to address AI-enabled voice cloning that may enable fraud or scams: (1) prevention or authentication; (2) real-time detection or monitoring; or (3) existing content evaluation. Below, we highlight each of these categories and discuss some challenges and benefits of implementing each approach.
