Winter has officially arrived! This is the perfect time to bundle up, grab a hot drink from your local coffee shop and go on a rejuvenating stroll along a trail or greenway. If you are looking for something for the kiddos, our playgrounds are open year-round, providing a fun space for kids of all ages to burn off energy and enjoy the fresh air.

HOLIDAY TOURS AT THE FISHBURN MANSION

Tour the holiday decor at the Historic Fishburn Mansion this season!

 

  • Candlelight Tours: Enjoy an intimate tour of Roanoke’s Historic Fishburn Mansion and see all its historic rooms by candlelight - December 14 & 15.
  • Free Holiday Open House: The mansion and grounds will be open to the public from 1-5 PM on December 17 for a self-guided tour experience.

JOIN THE WINTER BALLERS!

Get ready to hoop it up in our co-ed adult basketball league this winter! It's the perfect way to stay active and have fun all season long. This league is open to players of all skill levels. Games will take place indoors at the Eureka Park Rec Center. Beyond the court we celebrate sportsmanship with awards and prizes and our community fosters a sense of togetherness.

Our annual dodgeball tournament is BACK February 3! We've got both a co-ed and men's division to choose from, so get your team together, coordinate your sweatbands and high socks, and don't forget to come up with a clever team name!

NEW YEAR, NEW FITNESS GOALS

The Roanoke 100 Miler is the perfect way to stay active in the New Year by setting a goal of 100 miles in 100 days! You can walk, run, hike, or bike your way to 100 miles, or substitute one mile for 30-minutes of human-powered activity!


Whether you earn your 100 miles playing disc golf, swimming, rock climbing, or doing yoga, the most important thing is to challenge yourself to reaching the goal in 100 days! Challenge runs January 8 through April 16!
