One of our most anticipated exhibits at Image City is Through the Student Lens 2024, featuring the photography of students from 21 local High Schools and Flower City Arts, Studio 678 in the Neuberger Gallery. This exhibit, which we started in 2010, showcases the skills and originality of students in photography every year. Don Menges, Gallery Partner, worked with the teachers and each school picked ten photos for their exhibit. You will be delighted by the work of the young photographers and their photos when you visit Image City. The photo selected for the promotional postcard and poster titled The Ghost of You by Matthew Temple of Le Roy High School is a striking example of the creativity. We very much appreciate Michael Hager of Museum Photographics, who printed all of the student photos and Jason Campbell, Frameworks of Rochester for mounting them. The exhibit runs from March 19 to April 14. Receptions will be held Friday, March 22, 5-8:30 pm, Saturday, March 23, 1-3 pm and Sunday, March 24, 1-3 pm with First Friday Gallery Night, April 5, 5-9 pm.
Additional Guest Photographers in the exhibit have selected photographs from Camera Rochester by Bob Clemens, Ken Mason, Bob Pease, and Jeff Stein. Rounding out the show are Gallery Partners Dick Bennett, Marie Costanza, Steve Levinson, Gil Maker, Don Menges, Luann Pero, Betsy Phillips, John Solberg, and Sheridan Vincent. You will certainly see photographs having a variety of style and subjects for you to enjoy and to consider a purchase to enhance your art collection and your home and office decor.
