After capturing the South Eastern Crate Association sanctioned SRI Performance Topless Tour event a couple of weeks ago at Sumter Speedway, MLR has continued to be white hot over the past 2 weeks!
While every trip to Victory Lane is special, it will be a long time before the memories from this past weekend at Virginia Motor Speedway fade away. After a strong qualifying and heat race performance, the strategy for the lengthy main event was underway. At the drop of the green, Long remained in touch with the leaders and paced himself in the early stages. As the race wore on, Long maneuvered his way into 2nd place behind leader Ross Bailes. On a restart, Long took advantage of the preferred racing groove and vaulted to the lead. He never looked back and went on to score the most prestigious win of his career and a $3000 payday!
Sandwiched in between their triumph at Sumter and their historical win at Virginia Motor Speedway, MLR captured their 2nd consecutive SRI Performance Topless Tour event on June 8th at Carolina Speedway. Long qualified 4th but found himself on the front row for the main event after the Top4 redraw. 35 laps later, the Ohio native and Concord, NC driver powered his #55 to the $2000 victory at the Gastonia, NC oval.
