Autumn is our most enigmatic season. On one hand, there's little question the days are growing shorter, the nights colder, the trees and shrubs losing leaves and dying back. On the other hand, an amazing regenerative process is underway with seeds being blown in every direction, roots expanding underground, and nuts being buried to support a season of vibrant new life just ahead. Is the same regenerative energy at work in us?

"Getting Out of Our Heads"

What's being called the "new science of awe" is bringing us important discoveries about everyday practices that can calm our nervous systems, bring feelings of well-being, and help us feel connected to others. So many of these practices involve getting out of our heads and into the world of amazing things all around us.

Note: We experienced problems with the live stream of the service on Sept. 8th. The stream is garbled from approximately minute 11 to 18. We are working to determine the cause of the problem and ensure it does not happen again.

Message: "Stepping Out of the Way"

Workshop: "Path to Oneness"

Rev. Christy Snow will be our special guest on Sunday, Sept. 29th, speaking and performing at the morning service, and facilitating an afternoon workshop. Her Sunday message, "Stepping Out of the Way," is about moving out of chaos and into the Divine flow.

Her workshop, "Path to Oneness," will convene in the sanctuary after a break for refreshments. Participants will learn chants from different faith traditions and practice using them to support their spiritual journey. No musical background is needed.

Rev. Christy is an ordained minister with over 20 years experience in pulpit ministry. She is the founding minister of Awaken Spiritual Community in Charlotte, NC. She's also a professional musician with 14 CDs ranging from spiritual chants, to guided meditation, to acoustic folk/rock.
