MEAN GIRLS, SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE, HOLIDAY, X-MEN 3, AQUAMARINE, GLORY ROAD, ERAGON, and indie films HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, SHORTBUS, PARTY MONSTER, DOUBLE WHAMMY, SERIES 7, GREAT WORLD OF SOUND (Sundance), JUST LIKE THE SON (Tribeca Festival), THE PROJECT (Slamdance Audience Award for Best Film), MURT RAMIREZ WANTS TO KICK MY ASS, DUMPING LISA, BLISSESTRASSE and HANNAH HAS A HO PHASE (featuring SNL's newest cast member Kate McKinnon). In 2001 Erica attended Sundance Film Festival representing the casting of 5 films: Series 7, Acts of Worship, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Diary of a City Priest, and Double Whammy. She produced and cast 2 films, a gritty dark comedy, "AMATEURS" and "DOOMSDAYS" (with Justin Rice & Leo Fitzpatrick). Recent short films include "THE BAD DAYS," and "COUNTERFEIT," for director Geoff Bailey and Geoff's second short film "HIGH GROUND". She also wrapped up on the casting for the feature film "JULIA", for director/writer Matthew A Brown, a revenge thriller produced by Zero Gravity and a hilarious short film "STAY AT HOME".
Commercial work: T-MOBILE with director Matt Aselton, Sobe ad for 2009 Superbowl, WII, LOVAZA with director Ian Gabriel, LENDINGTREE, LORD & TAYLOR. Voice over for BIORE, HUMIRA, BNP, CAPITAL ONE, HOMEGOODS, TJMAXX and Spanish and English voice over for VIRGIN MOBILE. Erica completed casting for an awareness commercial for the NFL for the 2014 Superbowl in NY, a Whole Foods commercial, and is the NY Casting Director for Stateline Films, casting for promos including TNT, TBS/Domino's, TLC Say Yes to The Dress, Discovery Channel/SCJohnson. Recently Erica cast several hilarious cross-promos for Comedy Central, including Bud Light, 3 Musketeers, Twix, Subway, Cigna, Burger King, Lowes, Dave & Busters, Cadillac, Pop Tarts, Butterfingers and promos for the new Amy Schumer show, one for comedian Eugene Mirman's 1 hr comedy special, and Workaholics/Stride Gum.
Over her 18 year career Erica has become an exceptional casting director having worked and learned from commercial and film directors John Cameron Mitchell, Tom DiCillo, Jesse Peretz, Matt Aselton, Phil Morrison, Jeff Preiss, David Gordon Green, Pam Thomas, Kinka Usher, Frank Samuel, Dewey Nicks, Mark Pellington, Pam Thomas, Mark Tiedemann, Fredrik Bond, Stacy Wall, Morgan J Freeman. This combined with the many casting directors she has worked with (most notably Susan Shopmaker, Jerry Beaver, Liz Lewis and Judy Henderson) have allowed her to develop her own natural techniques in directing, inventive casting ideas and teaching methods.
Erica's reputation and skills also caught the attention of renowned ad agency Grey Advertising, whose casting department hires her regularly to prep and cast for their top clients, over the past 2 years. Jobs include Pringles, Febreze, Olive Garden, TJ Maxx, Abreva, Advil, Panadol, Ad Council, Radio Shack and Breath Right.
Her passion for comedy recently took her one step further into the trenches of improv. In 2011, she graduated from Level 1 and 2 Improv at The PIT (The People's Improv Theater). She is also excited to have a new podcast through her company Erica Palgon Casting & Beyond on Itunes and share her tweets with her followers on Twitter!
