Dear Friends,


Thanks to all who joined us for a fascinating discussion last Sunday on how to shift our thinking from win-lose to win-win. I chose the history of our church as my example and the long decision to sell. How awesome it was to have Chris Laitner, the denomination president, in the 2000s, and Malcolm Peck, the church president, on the call to share their reflections during that period.


Let's pray for more wins for our church as we ponder the next steps.

Compline

Thanks to the six of you who joined in person and the eight people who joined online for our second Compline service. The response was so strong that we'll continue this service.


I have enjoyed getting to know our speaker for this coming Sunday, Jim Robinson, who serves as the Executive Director at the George Washington University's Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (please see his bio below).


"Several years ago Jim (my boss) was diagnosed with colon cancer. The traumatic experience helped us grow as a team, and I learned a lot from my boss about courage then," says Kateryna Pyatybratova. "The Acorn Principles workbook that Jim had written, was a reflection that emerged from that difficult hour, and helped our collective team think through our belief system about the true power of our potential."

Church Board

The church board met this week and agreed to begin the search for our new home. As we embark on this journey, any feedback you have for Annabel Park is welcome.


The board is holding a retreat in West Virginia the weekend of the 27th!
