Secrets
(4-8 Players/15-35 mins.)
In Secrets, the second co-design between Eric Lang and Bruno Faidutti, players are assigned a hidden team - the CIA or KGB - and are trying to collect the most points for their side. In addition, one or two players are secretly anti-establishment Hippies who are working for nobody. Their goal is to fight the Man and have the fewest points.
On your turn, offer one of two randomly drawn agent cards to another player. These cards are worth points and have varying good or bad abilities. That player either accepts the agent, in which case they score it, or they refuse, in which case the card returns to you, and you score it. The game ends when a player has five cards, after which the teams are revealed; the team with the highest combined score wins, unless a Hippie has the single lowest score, in which case they win.
The interactions between the character cards are the spice of the game, but since the abilities are discoverable during play, the game can be taught in three minutes.

Unearthed
(2-4 Players/25-50 mins.)
Long ago, your ancestors built great cities across the world. Now your tribe must explore forests, deserts, islands, mountains, and caverns to find these lost cities. Claim the ruins, build places of power, and restore the glory of a bygone age.
Unearth is a bend-your-luck game of dice placement and set collection. Designed by Jason Harner and Matthew Ransom, it plays in under an hour with 2-4 players. Each player leads a tribe of Delvers, represented by five dice (3 six-sided, 1 four-sided, and 1 eight-sided). Players take turns rolling and placing dice in an attempt to claim Ruins.
The game's elegant core mechanic is accessible to players of all skill levels. High rolls help players claim Ruins, while low rolls help players collect Stones. This opens two paths to victory: claiming sets of Ruins or using Stones to build Wonders. Delver cards help you affect your dice rolls or dice in play, and Wonders can grant abilities that impact the late game.

The Apocrypha Adventure Card Game allows you to play it as a cooperative card game, or with a game master as a role playing game. The world is on the brink of an apocalypse, set in motion by monsters only your characters can see. Gameplay is story-based, and features deck construction and character growth. Over time, characters will unlock repressed memory fragments that will add new powers. Each mission has a unique setup and goal, which often involves hunting down a true threat hiding among the cards at the nexuses that characters investigate.
The game will be released in a base box that will contain one chapter expansion. The base game, called The World, comes with 584 cards, 20 six-sided dice, 1 rulebook, 1 storybook, 30 dividers, and 10 character stand-up tokens. The remaining eight chapters will appear in two expansions, The Flesh and The Devil, each with 400 cards, 10 dividers, 1 storybook, and 4 character stand-up tokens.

The Agents is a strategic card game that introduces a unique double-edged card mechanism into the undercover world of covert operations, subterfuge, secrecy and sabotage. Players must join their Agents into Factions, assign Missions and take their opponents down, to gather intel and win the most points.
Each Agent card features a "command" on one end of the card and "points" on the other end. The direction in which you place the card determines from which asset you benefit. If you choose to perform the command, one of your opponents scores the points; if you keep the points for yourself, an opponent gets to perform the command. With 25 different Agents, each with its own unique ability, Agents can be turned, killed, extracted and swapped - making the game ever flexible, variable, unpredictable and a test of forward planning and quick thinking. As you learn about each Agent's special abilities, discover how Agents work together or against each other, and weigh up the advantages of collecting points for yourself versus using the commands to further your goals and sabotage your opponent's strategies, the game becomes increasingly complex, dynamic and challenging.
Missions, played alongside Factions of Agents, provide interesting, strategic conditions which, if fulfilled, score you big points - but if you race ahead, you'll also become a target for attack. The better you're doing, the more under fire you'll be.

In Wasteland Express Delivery Service, you take on the role of drivers inhabiting a post-apocalyptic wasteland riddled with outrageous, unhinged, and otherworldly characters who are set on unleashing mayhem at every turn.
To survive in this deranged universe, drivers must haul food, water, and guns between the handful of settlements pockmarked through the wasteland. You must battle insane raiders who occupy the void between cities, taking on missions from the three factions that have divided up the last of civilization: the fascist New Republic Army, is hellbent on bringing the world to heel for its own good; the heretical Oracles of Ceres, who have turned their attention to the worship of the land; and the technologically obsessed Archivists, who cling to the old ways and the hope of restoring our lost civilization.
But what do you care? You're here to get paid and live another day free. Outfit your truck, hire some insane riders to help fend off raiders, add some storage, and just keep truckin'.
Wasteland Express Delivery Service includes an emergent narrative story that unfolds over the course of 10 sessions. Each scenario begins with a beautifully illustrated comic book introduction that sets up the storyline and the constantly escalating stakes and challenges in front of players. Alternatively, players can dive in with a randomly generated scenario that will play out over the course of a single story-driven game session.

A bizarre and ingenious party game where you have to 'do things' without being accused by the other players. Be sneaky, act crazy, manipulate the group and get creative if you want to win!
The game consists of a deck of 2 types of playing cards:
DUELS to play during your turn. Choose your opponent, battle it out, and the group decides the winner.
...but that's just to keep the game going, the 'DO SOMETHING' cards are what it's all about! These are instructions you have to carry out during the other players' turns in such a way that they can verify it happened when you confess BUT if they call you out, you'll have to try again.
DEER LORD! is a social game, and the opinions of the players determine the gameplay. Win over your friends to win the game!
This BASIC game fits any occasion and is suitable for any type of player. If you're looking to spice it up, add one or more of the 3 expansions.

Above and Below
(Employee Pick!)
(2-4 Players/90 mins.)
Your last village was ransacked by barbarians. You barely had time to pick up the baby and your favorite fishing pole before they started the burning and pillaging. You wandered over a cruel desert, braved frozen peaks, and even paddled a log across a rough sea, kicking at the sharks whenever they got too close, the baby strapped tightly to your back.
Then you found it! The perfect place to make your new home. But as soon as you had the first hut built, you discovered a vast network of caverns underground, brimming with shiny treasures, rare resources, and untold adventure. How could you limit your new village to the surface? You immediately start organizing expeditions and building houses underground as well as on the surface.
With any luck, you'll build a village even stronger than your last-- strong enough, even, to turn away the barbarians the next time they come knocking.
Above and Below is a mashup of town-building and storytelling where you and up to three friends compete to build the best village above and below ground. In the game, you send your villagers to perform jobs like exploring the cave, harvesting resources, and constructing houses. Each villager has unique skills and abilities, and you must decide how to best use them. You have your own personal village board, and you slide the villagers on this board to various areas to indicate that they've been given jobs to do. Will you send Hanna along on the expedition to the cave? Or should she instead spend her time teaching important skills to one of the young villagers?
A great cavern lies below the surface, ready for you to explore-- this is where the storytelling comes in. When you send a group of villagers to explore the depths, one of your friends reads what happens to you from a book of paragraphs. You'll be given a choice of how to react, and a lot will depend on which villagers you brought on the expedition, and who you're willing to sacrifice to succeed. The book of paragraphs is packed with encounters of amazing adventure, randomly chosen each time you visit the cavern.
At the end of the game, the player with the most well-developed village wins!

The talk of the streets and taverns has all been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone whos ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied. When they finally succumb, they cant be raisedand neither can anyone else, regardless of whether theyve ever received that miracle in the past. Temples and scholars of divine magic point to the curse originating somewhere in Chult, a mysterious peninsula far to the south, ringed with mountains and choked with rain forests. Adventurers tasked with stopping the curse must travel to settlements such as Port Nyanzaru to secure guides to lead them into the dense jungle. At the end of the journey, a horrifying villain awaits with a familiar visage. Will your players survive?

Sorry all! Dario is on vacation (at Gen Con) for a few days. We will announce the winner of the iPod trivia, and have a whole new set of trivia clues in our next newsletter. - Sorana (marketing)
What is Ipod Triviia and How Does it Work?
Our Ipod trivia is pretty simple. We'll pick a character from either comics, movies, television or video games and choose song titles that give a clue to the characters identity. The clues are always part of the song title so don't get hung up on the artists names. Email your guesses to
Fitch@thatse.com with the word trivia or newsletter in the subject.
Winners will be announced in our next newsletter!
Players who answer correctly have their names placed in a hat and randomly picked for a $10 store credit prize to That's Entertainment (can be used at both store locations). Credit expires within 30 days of the Newsletter release announcing the winner, so head on down and collect it right away. Remember to ALWAYS include your FULL NAME and where you would like to pick up the prize (Worcester or Fitchburg) in your email. Further details are in the fine print below.
