Wow - this weeks 'Take 5' email is our 100th.


Our aim when we started T5 (October 20th 2020) was to share the latest news, information, tips & tricks about the Optinet software systems (FLEX, V5 & PCS) in a quick bulletin style email and to help you get the most out of the system you have invested in. Hopefully we have done that and will continue to do that moving forward.


To celebrate our 100th edition and continuing the theme of helping, we are giving away a training day for up to 4 people at our training suite in Malvern including lunch.

All you need to do to enter is give us your practice feedback! Tell us what you love about FLEX, what features have made practice life easier, is there member of the team that goes above & beyond - we don't mind what it is, your feedback will help us shape our services in the future.

Emailing Orders

Did you know that you can email an order to a supplier in FLEX, setup the email address against the supplier and set the method to 'Email' and you are good to go!


  • Menu > Setup > Stock > Suppliers
  • Find the supplier you would like to update and double-click it
  • Click the 'Ordering' tab
  • In 'EDI Details: Method' select 'Email'
  • Enter the 'Email Address' to send orders to in the email box below

Dispense: Automate & Save Time

When confirming a dispense, FLEX can also offer to create the order, print the order, create a corresponding till receipt but did you know that those processes can be automated to save you time & clicks!


Here's how:


  • Menu > Setup > Branch > General > Settings
  • Click 'Update Branch'
  • Scroll to 'Dispense' section
  • Tick the following boxes
  • Auto Post To Till
  • Auto Create Order
  • Request to Print Order
  • Auto Print Order
  • Go to Till after Confirm

Latest Patches: v1.5.7.29 /30

HPP indicates high priority patches that are downloaded and installed automatically

MTS indicates patches that have been deployed to the 'Hosted FLEX' servers

REQ indicates a patch that will be loaded on request or when an issue is highlighted
