Interim Update


An minor update is rolling out over the coming weeks that incorporates previous patches for this version.


  • Speed improvements when navigating to the Till for Chip and PIN users
  • Speed improvements when searching NHS England claims in Business Intelligence

TLS 1.2 Update


Following Microsoft’s introduction of a ‘speedbump’ to encourage users away from TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 when sending emails using SMTP via Microsoft Exchange, we have engineered a solution to enable TLS1.2 when sending emails via this method.


This issue only affected users of Office365 and Microsoft Exchange. To avoid emails being rejected and to continue integrating with the Exchange Server, this change to Flex has been brought forward and is included in the minor update rolling out now.

GOS fee increase in Scotland


We have been notified by NHS Scotland that GOS fees will be increasing on April 1st by 3%. FLEX users should follow the instructions below, additional emails will be sent for PCS user and Version 5 users.


To update your eGOS FEES:


  • Navigate to Setup > Examinations > Sight Exams > Types
  • Click into the 'Fee' column for the relevant test type and enter the new fee


To update your TILL SALES ITEMS:


  • Navigate to Stock
  • Find each fee sale item in turn (setting the product group to your fees group will help)
  • Double-click to edit the item and update the 'Retail Price' in the second window.
  • Save the record


To update your VOUCHERS:


  • Navigate to Setup > Till > NHS Vouchers
  • Click into the 'Value' column for each voucher and enter the new amount

Signpost Online Booking


Online booking is a great tool that frees up time for staff in the practice and allows patients to book their appointments at a time that's convenient to them, here are a couple of ways to make it easy for your patients to find online booking:

Patient Searching - It's not all about the name!


The patient search widget on the homescreen in FLEX does what it says on the tin - but did you know there are actually 10 ways to find a patient!


The required format is shown in brackets


  1. D.O.B (19/05/1984)
  2. Postcode (WR14 2AZ)
  3. First name (,John)
  4. Sur,firtsname (smi,christopher)
  5. surname,firstname (doe,john)
  6. Address (?32 Church Street)
  7. Legacy reference (-8745)

  10. Patient reference (64673)


Note:

  • Legacy ref is only used when converting data from other system
  • Certain symbols trigger specific search type e.g. ? for address
  • Do not type the brackets

  • HPP indicates high priority patches that are downloaded and installed automatically
  • MTS indicates patches that have been deployed to the 'Hosted FLEX' servers
  • REQ indicates a patch that will be loaded on request or when an issue is highlighted
