Interim Update


The interim update continues to roll-out to users and will be complete on Thursday 10th February.


  • Speed improvements when navigating to the Till for Chip and PIN users
  • Speed improvements when searching NHS England claims in Business Intelligence

FLEX Update - Delivery Dates


We understand that it has been challenging in the past for practices, not knowing when updates will be applied to them meant not being able to plan for forthcoming changes.


In the last major update we added the download group to FLEX - you can find your download group in the bottom left corner of the 'About' screen off the main menu.

Now, when we release an update we will publish the release schedule (on the support portal) so that you can see exactly when the update will be delivered to your business. Use the release notes to plan which changes will affect your business.


Below is the current interim release schedule, if your group is not listed then you have already received the update.

Screen / Tablet Resolution


Tablets & monitors have evolved quickly, it is expected today that we should all have the highest resolution we possibly can (especially when viewing fundus / OCT images) but what is screen resolution and how do applications respond to these higher resolutions.


We have added a new knowledgebase article that explains how FLEX reacts to different tablet & monitor resolutions.

Staff Roles & Reports


Reports are made available to staff members via their staff role, managers will assign the reports for each role and staff member.


When a new update is released, new reports are not added to roles by default - therefore managers will need to assign these new reports to the various staff roles as needed.

Secure Your Screens With AutoLock


Your FLEX system contains sensitive data about your patients, their clinical & financial history and it is your responsibility to take steps to keep that data safe.


To help you FLEX has a handy 'AutoLock' feature that will lock the screen after a pre-set timeout, the timeout can be set per device.

Latest Patches

  • HPP indicates high priority patches that are downloaded and installed automatically
  • MTS indicates patches that have been deployed to the 'Hosted FLEX' servers
  • REQ indicates a patch that will be loaded on request or when an issue is highlighted

  • #028 - Signature Pad
  • Adds extra error handling if FLEX detects a signature pad has disconnected. FLEX will try to reconnect to the pad and keeps the user informed of the result
  • #029 - Appointment Diary
  • Patient title is now displayed correctly when booking an appointment after ticking the 'New Px' option.
  • Performance update to the way the diary checks for updates.
  • #030 - Orders
  • The order header is now correctly updated after the 'Dispense Order Type' field is changed. This change ensures EDI orders are sent as 'Remote Edging' when a trace is present.
  • #031 - Windcave Card Processing
  • Handling of an undocumented Windcave response to allow correct processing if submitting consecutive transactions with the same value within a short period.
