Autumn Update Preview
New Features coming in November
The next major release of FLEX, v1.5.6, is scheduled for general release in November.

Release notes will be available soon to allow you to start planning the new changes into your business.

FLEX - EeRS Referrals
The EeRS programme was jointly commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement and NHSX in November 2020.

The primary objective is to deliver electronic referral management

The EeRS program will enable primary eye care clinicians to send electronic referrals directly to hospital eye services
In Flex, an eReferral can be sent once an examination has been completed.

The Optometrist can view the data that makes up the referral, as well as add any additional notes (this data can be sent to one of several referral systems in England. The system you use varies depending on your location in the country).

Once the data has ben sent, the referral can be completed in the online Referral system.

Practices can check on the status of a referral in the NHS England section of Business Intelligence.
Card Payment Integration
Integrated card payment processing comes to FLEX.

A linked card terminal interacts with the FLEX till to initiate the card payment process, on-screen messaging keeps the user informed at all times. Costly mistakes made by keying wrong amounts are a thing of the past!
Rodenstock CNXT
CNXT from Rodenstock is a new platform that will allow FLEX to communicate with all Rodenstock equipment & software.

Transfer of data results in fewer data entry mistakes and saves staff time.
Optinet FLEX
Latest Patches - v1.5.5

  • HPP indicates patches that are downloaded and installed automatically
  • MTS indicates patches that have been loaded onto the 'Hosted FLEX' servers

  • Fixes an issue where a voucher was automatically selected when the 'No prescription was issued' tickbox was selected.
  • Adds a prism check to the 'Plano prescription' validation check.

  • Reliability enhancements when using cut & paste in the appointment screen [HPP / MTS]

  • #057: eGOS England
  • Various eGOS enhancements:
  • Claims cannot be deleted if submitted
  • List number is editable on GOS1, 3 & 5

  • #058: System
  • Fixes an issue where 'SpeedWriting' documents were not saving on hosted FLEX installations. [MTS]
OptiSave Backups
'Livedrive' part of the OptiSave engine, released an update this week - please ensure that you install the update as soon as possible to ensure your backups continue to upload.
