A PERSONAL NOTE
Hi,

Lately, I’ve had “the urge to purge” and have been going through boxes of old stuff in my office. It’s like a trip down Memory Lane! But it’s also a good feeling to discard unnecessary papers, mementos, and paraphernalia. Some things made me sad – e.g., so much energy into projects that went nowhere – but some things were rewarding – e.g., things I’d done that I’d forgotten but either paid off, taught me, or helped someone.
There were a few years during which loads of creativity came forth – songs, lyrics, books, videos, and more. The Guides were really talking to me, bombarding me with messages and insights. Often, they waxed poetical.
For a change of pace, here’s a poem that “came through” in 2000 that’s appropriate for today:
Awakening
As channeled via The Brotherhood of Light Workers
There will be some who can’t explain,
There will be others who can’t maintain.
In the bowels of fact, in the time of woe,
There will be some who can’t let go.
At a time of peace there is much to enjoy,
But at the time of woe there is more to gain.
Grow up, and let the rains come down,
Grow within, and let the heavens glow.
Go forth, and a paradise shows,
Go back, and see where you lost track.
If you think there is light when there is pain,
If you know there is a brightness when you’ve suffered again,
In the end you will find what you so longingly seek,
In the end you will know what you’ve always had.
Forsooth, for now, forever…
Again.

ASTRO TIDBITS - MAY 2021
The World is under spiritual and loving aspects Weeks 1 and 2 (Neptune sextile Venus; New Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune), and there is good energy for investments (Pluto trine Venus). Matters of the heart are nice on the 18th (Node conjunct Venus). The 23rd shows calm (Saturn SR trine Venus) but people are quite deceived (Mercury square Neptune). By late month, it’s still hard to break free (Saturn square Uranus).
In the U.S., financial pressures are felt all month (Pluto opposite U.S. PF), and the nation is still under a veil of misinformation (Neptune opposite U.S. Neptune). Week 1 indicates bold moves and possible over-confidence (Mars sextile U.S. p2 ASC; conjunct U.S. Jupiter). Week 2 is good for tech but not for old issues regarding values (U.S. p2 Moon trine U.S. p2 Uranus, conjunct U.S. p2 South Node). The 15th-20th shows a mixture of triumph and frustration (Mars conjunct U.S. Sun, square U.S. Saturn). There can be violence on the 21st (Mars square U.S. p2 Mars) but the 23rd brings stability (Saturn SR conjunct U.S. H3 exact, trine U.S. Saturn in H10). Too many lies on the 29th (Mercury SR in Gemini square U.S. Neptune)! The 30th offers a chance at healing and inspiration (Mars sextile U.S. Neptune).
President Trump is at his best and benefits from partnerships in Week 3 (Jupiter conjunct his DSC, trine his p2 ASC). Although the 23rd continues restrictions on him, he is very happy (Saturn SR opposite his p2 Pluto; his p2 Moon sextile his Venus). The 24th-25th indicates confusion and turbulence (Neptune square his Sun; Uranus square his p2 Pluto), but the 29th is terrific for all types of communications (Mercury SR trine his p2 Jupiter exact).
Nancy Pelosi can be deluded all month (Neptune opposite her p2 Neptune). She encounters change to the status quo in Week 1 (Uranus conjunct her Saturn), and is very busy from the 12th – 24th (Mars conjunct her p2 Venus/p2 Mercury/ p2 Mars).
Joe Biden is blocked around the 23rd (Saturn SR square his Mars). He is under strain and clumsy in Week 4, even accident-prone (Uranus opposite his Mars).
Hillary Clinton is in a fantasy although might feel inspired this month (Neptune conjunct her Moon, trine her Mercury). On the 11th she encounters money problems regarding Bill (New Moon conjunct her NN, square her Saturn exact). On the 23rd, she might be injured or have sharp restrictions (Saturn SR opposite her Mars/Pluto).
Bill Gates is stressed out, finding that others limit him (Pluto conjunct his (DSC?)/p2 Mercury).
Prince Harry feels less blocked, even reborn, by mid-month (Jupiter trine his Pluto) but remains under restriction on the 23rd (Saturn SR square his Saturn). Week 4 shows a turning point involving his goals and friends versus his wife and home (Uranus opposite his Saturn/ASC; Lunar Eclipse in H11 opposite his Moon in H4). By month’s end, he is very confused (Neptune opposite his Sun). Meghan Markle is under sweeping changes perhaps leading to higher consciousness (Pluto sextile her Uranus). Separation and blockage are difficult but she’ll invent something creative (Saturn SR opposite her Sun; Uranus square her Sun, sextile her Mars). On the 12th, she begins a new 2-year cycle (Mars return). I feel these patterns are the result of Harry attending his grandfather Phillip’s funeral.
Mark Zuckerberg faces major difficulties now (Saturn square his Saturn/p2 Mars; Uranus opposite his Saturn).

Book Review: “The Spiritual Teachings of Marcus Aurelius," Mark Forstater, (HarperCollins, 2000)
This book is in two parts, one of which is the author’s long introduction to the person of Marcus Aurelius and what his teachings (some have called “meditations”) are about, and the second part is Marcus Aurelius’ words themselves, broken into chapters that this author has organized around themes. Part One is called “What Is the Right Way to Live?” whereby Forstater explains his own journey and how he came upon this material. Part Two is called “The Spiritual Teachings of Marcus Aurelius”, broken down into eight chapters: Living in the World; Cultivating the Self; The Inner Spirit; The Universal Mind; Contemplating Death; Everything Changes; At One with Nature; and Peace is in Your Hands.
Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor eighteen centuries ago and was also a philosopher who followed the tenets of Stoicism. The internet tells us that he was the last of five emperors who presided over the Pax Romana – a long period of peace and prosperity for the Empire – after which it descended into constant turnovers of emperors, bringing lots of chaos into the region. He died fairly young, and was succeeded by the Emperor Commodus (his son). For those who have watched the movie “Gladiator”, Commodus was quite a piece of work! Aurelius was supposedly killed by this son and heir – which may or may not be true because that detail was not supported by the research that I was able to find. This is an important point, however, because Aurelius was a high-consciousness individual yet his offspring was quite the opposite. His lofty wisdom just didn’t transfer!
What is amazing to me is that a Roman emperor, in control of a vast territory and with quite unlimited power, could, first of all, be so wise and tempered in his response to the world when he could have been as tyrannical and self-indulgent as many others in his position were; and also that, from the depth of his meditations, he was able to be detached and tolerant of any number of frustrating encounters. He often ponders dealing with difficult individuals and unpleasant situations whereas one would think he might have easily dispatched with such, and not have the bother!
To speak of his teachings is to come into an understanding that his consciousness was ageless, contemporary, evolved, and farsightedly as elevated as any of our modern-day masters. For example, he saw everything in the Now, not the past or the future; he saw one Creator of all (despite his mentions of “the gods”, i.e., the Roman pantheon); and he extolled Reason over emotion or reaction. He seems to have practiced depriving himself of pleasures (Stoicism) in order to gain mastery over the self. This is very Buddhist! Some of his words might have found themselves in books by today’s teachers such as Eckhardt Tolle. Here’s a sampling:
“We need to keep a disposition that gladly accepts everything that happens as necessary, familiar, and flowing from the original source.”
“We can live only in the present moment, in this brief now; all the rest of our life is dead and buried or shrouded in uncertainty.”
“In contemplating your true self, don’t include the body.”
“Today I have gotten rid of my problems; for they weren’t outside me, but inside and especially in the judgments of my mind.”
Stoics like Aurelius lived as though philosophy was a lifestyle, infusing their days with the wisdom that “keeps you free from damage and degradation” by “transcending pain and pleasure, doing everything with a purpose, avoiding lies and hypocrisy, not relying on another person’s actions or failings”, and above all, “accepting everything that comes, and everything that is given, as coming from that same spiritual source.” Wouldn’t it be nice if today’s leaders and politicians adhered to that same elevated perspective?
Not necessarily an easy or “entertaining” read, but so packed full of pithy insights and full-flowered wisdom! 5 stars

REMEMBER, YOU ARE NATURE
Hello. Today we are going to talk about nature. We feel that nature has been ignored or put on the back burner of conscious attention. There has been something of a disconnect between people and their surroundings, not their homes or places of business or stores or even offices that they visit, but with the outdoors, that being especially now in springtime - leafing trees, flowering plants, sprung grasses, the myriad of insect life, and all the flora and fauna that populate your particular corner of the world with its unique temperatures and botany.
In this regard, we call your attention back to the air that you breathe, the wind, the sunlight, the flowing waters, the all-covering sky with its never-ending vistas, and the mighty elemental forces such as are resident in the ocean, in the earth, in the atmosphere, and in the variety of energies. We call your attention to nature, for that has been eclipsed or forgotten during the long period of lockdown, of fear, of life indoors, and of cocooning.
We say to you, go outside. If you live in the city, take a walk to the nearest park, be it immense or a pocket one. Sit under a tree’s leaves, hear perhaps the sound of tinkling waterfalls or streams. If you live in the suburbs, be sure to walk around your house. Let your feet touch the grass, that is to say, barefoot, and maybe hug a tree or caress a bush, or simply enjoy some of the flowers of now, including those considered weeds. And finally, if you live in the country, exult in the warm and comforting surroundings of crops which grow, forests which stand, lakes which sparkle, and drink it all in. The sun will give you vitamins, the wind will tousle your hair and make you remember being alive and energetic, the waters will cleanse, wash, revivify, and the earth will ground. Put your fingers in soil if possible.
Now, come back to yourself. Remember: you are nature. You are part and parcel of these elements, of these natural living formations, and you are not merely frightened people hiding in rooms. Switch that energy around 180 degrees. Reawaken your energy. Partake of life. Partake of the world. Partake of your neighborhood, and smile. All is well.
