bOHO-bOMbSHELL Micro-Macrame' Earrings

Forget wooden-eyed owls and burlap-textured plant-hangers...

...This ain't yo' mama's macramé!
Amee Runs with Scissors makes Micro-Macramé fast, fun and fashionable. Books on macramé can be a confusing hash of diagrams and videos sometimes omit the "secrets" that make the work easier. Join Amee and learn how simple it is to weave two basic knots into these swingy, lightweight earrings. All the tools and supplies will be provided. Kits will be available in a wide variety of color-ways.
Rocaille Refinement Necklace

Calling all Lily-Gilders, Tassel-Hangers and Glitter-Sprinklers... this is SO your kind of jewelry!

Achieve elegant results in Soutache & Bead Embroidery. Adventurous Beginners will learn all the Basics including Aligning & Stacking, Shaping Stitches, Ending Stacks, Backing & Edge-Beading and creating Peyote Stitch Bezel. Those with more experience will be fascinated by new techniques including sculpting with Shibori ribbon, connecting components and creating a sturdy-but-delicate-looking captured-bead chain - a technique that can be used again and again in future soutache projects.

Students should come to class with a surface to bead on (bead board or bead blanket), good, sharp scissors and any magnifiers or extra task lighting desired. To complete the work, students will also need pliers, flush-cutters and looping or rosary pliers. Projects will not be finished in class but every kit comes with Amee Runs with Scissors' full-color, "Whole Story" step-by-step instructions making it easy to finish the project at home. Kits will be provided in five different color-ways.
Intergalactic Fruit Salad

What would a banana from another galaxy look like?

Could cherries be square (would they be squarries?)? Would extra-terrestrial watermelons have a waist? Nobody knows. And that's the point; making abstract shapes with no predefined, "correct" end-result gives your creative mind a freedom that is its own unique kind of nourishment.

Been curious about Soutache but nervous about trying it? Want to play with silk Shibori ribbon but not sure where to start? Syn-Leather? What the heck is Syn-Leather?

Come to Amee Runs with Scissors FREE make-and-take night and enjoy a satisfying portion of new artistic experiences. After helping yourself from "the buffet" (pick your own beading foundation, hand-dyed Shibori ribbon, Ultrasuede, soutache, Syn-Leather and beads), free, printed hand-outs will give you step-by-step instructions on how to work with each of the different materials and Amee will be there to help you create a special, one-of-a-kind piece of abstract fiber art you can wear as a pin or make into a refrigerator magnet.

Hungry for a little more? Go back for seconds.

Be sure to bring a pair of good, sharp scissors, any additional task lighting you prefer and any glasses or magnifiers you normally use for fine work.

And your appetite for fun.
Gypsy Fire Necklace

Soutache & Bead Embroidery is heating up with the "Flame Stitch" -

 - A new and exciting way to build tapered, dynamic shapes. And whether you like your jewelry "Small & Stylish" or "Go Big or Go Home," Amee Runs with Scissors' new class, "Gypsy Fire" teaches an amazingly simple method for creating custom-fit, collar-style necklaces of any scale that drape and wear beautifully every time. In this Intermediate Level class, students will blend Soutache & Bead Embroidery with Fish Leather, silk Shibori ribbon, velvet and other materials to create a rich, collar-style necklace in their choice of size and scale.

Students should come to class with a surface on which to work (bead-blanket or bead-tray), a good pair of sharp, small scissors, a pair of larger sewing scissors, any reading glasses or magnifiers they may normally require for fine work and any additional task lighting desired. Project will not be finished in class but Amee Runs with Scissors' "Whole Story," step-by-step, full-color instructions will make it easy to finish at home. Kits will be offered in five different color-ways. Flush-cutters and pliers (both flat and round-nose) will be needed to complete the project.
