this SPLASH (Support Polson Late Afternoon Social Hour) will be held

Thursday, December 21, 2023 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.


Each SPLASH serves to highlight a different member business, giving them the chance to display their business and affording them the opportunity to rub shoulders with other business professionals. SPLASHES feature a variety of food and beverage options and are accompanied by a split-the-pot opportunity.

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is a Joint Commission Accredited 22-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Polson, MT with 25 providers and more than 250 caregivers. We are proud to serve the Flathead Indian Reservation and Lake County residents. St. Joes provides a wide range of services, from primary care, rehabilitation, and mental health support to specialty care including general surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics/gynecology. 


We will be highlighting our new orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Matthew Anderson.  


MATTHEW ANDERSON, MD

Orthopedic Surgery – Providence St. Joseph Medical Center


Dr. Anderson is a fellowship trained orthopaedic sports medicine physician with an interest in the non-operative and operative treatment of shoulder, knee, elbow and sports related injuries in athletes and active individuals of all ages.  He performs both open and arthroscopic procedures on the knee, shoulder, and elbow, as well as shoulder and knee replacements and fracture care. 


Dr. Anderson trained in sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic under world class orthopaedic surgeons and worked with high school, college, and professional athletes. 


In his personal time, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife and four children hiking and exploring the outdoors, cooking with his wife, and sharing classic movies with his kids. 


Dr. Anderson is now accepting patients at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson.

Montana Taxes are changing!

Welcome BJ Mazurek, our newest Sales Representative!

 

BJ grew up in the scenic town of Polson. Born and raised in the Treasure State, he has a deep love for the Big Sky Country!

 

His dad was a music/band teacher, which inspired his love for music. Over the years, he learned and mastered various musical instruments and honed his singing skills, with a special focus on the drums.

 

After high school, BJ took his talents to North Dakota State University to play college baseball. Along the way, he also received his Engineering degree, showcasing his dedication and passion for learning.

 

BJ spent time pursuing being a golf pro, and it was in this role that he first crossed paths with Brian, our owner!

 

In his free time he can often be found playing in a band, unleashing his musical talents and bringing joy to those around him.


BJ is working with Rhino Roofing to assist homeowners in the Polson and Missoula areas. With his strong work ethic and passion for helping people, he's an essential addition to our team.

The Polson Redevelopment Agency
Currently there are funds available to be invested in projects that improve the TIF district in Polson. Tax increment financing (TIF). The PRA partners with public and private entities to help improve economic vitality, create jobs, and encourage investment in the district. The PRA also invests in improvements like parks, trails, streets and sidewalks. North Lake County Public Library District:

 

1.   We Are Now Hiring! We are getting ready for our grand reopening on January 31st and we are looking to add some new team members! Job details and application are available on our website at:

3.   We need: Wanted: nice scraps of lumber that could be laser burned and helpers to prepare the wood for a project in the renovation. The library is working with a local artist to create a project for the newly renovated building. We could use some help with preparing the wood for its transformation. If you are a handy person with some time, we’d love to hear from you. Please call Mallory at 406-883-8225 if you are interested or have some lumber that you would be willing to donate.

 

4.   Donations: We will not be able to accept any donations until after our move back into the renovated library.  Thank you for your understanding, we are excited for our move back into our home location! We hope to have our grand re-opening the last week of January. Stay tuned for more details!

 

5.   The Page Turner’s Youth Book Club is reading “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” Be sure to come in to pick up your free copy of the book. The book club will meet on December 20th at 3:30 p.m. to discuss the book.

 

6.   The Library will be closed: Saturday, December 23rd-Tuesday, December 26th and Saturday, December 30th- Monday, January 1st for the Christmas and New Year Holidays!

                                                                               

7.   Mondays mean Mother Goose! Join us at 9:15 a.m. Mother Goose is geared toward ages 0 to 3, but all are welcome. We encourage parents & caregivers to participate with their children for this early learning time.

 

8.   Thursdays mean Story Time! Join us at 10:00 a.m. at our temporary location: First United Methodist Church 301 16th Ave. East. Story Time is geared toward Kindergarten readiness, ages 3-5, but everyone is welcome! We read books, make crafts and play games. Parents and Caregivers are encouraged to join in this interactive program.

VA Rep: 1st Friday and 3rd Tuesday (Jan. 5 and Dec. 19th). Walk-in.

Bingo:  Bingo Friday Night 7:00p. Doors open 6:30p. $100. Blackout. “Playing Card” Bingo 1st and 3rd Wed.

Exercise: Sitting or standing: M- W- F, 10:30a. – 11:30a. Video-assisted guidance.

Pinochle: Thursday: 12p.-3p. Late arrivals can join in. Plenty of room for all.    

Pool: Open table from 8a.-3pm


We are running low on the green grocery bags from Super 1 Foods. We double bag them, and they are large enough to handle the canned and boxed commodity food to those in need. Save a bagful of bags and bring them in.

Mission Valley Choral Society Concerts


Seats fill up fast at the Mission Valley Choral Society concerts. Christmas concerts are this weekend, 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at the St. Ignatius Mission and 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec.17, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson.

The 40+ voice choir, directed by Cathy Gillhouse, will sing a variety of music from spirituals to classic Christmas songs. The community choir has existed in the county since the 1960's and brings a diverse group of people together, all ages with varied backgrounds, united to inspire through music.


The concerts are free and welcoming to all. A free-will offering will be taken to help the choir with music expenses. For information contact Valerie Lindstrom:
