Earth Week 💚

This sustainable campus has lots of love for the planet!

Enjoy Campus: Lehmanites appreciate natural beauty including rain on the quad (Margaret Ibasco); tulips by the garden (Amod Choudhary); magnolia flowers (Mildred Perez); and a blossoming cherry tree (Harrison Yang).

Eat for the Earth: Dina R. D’Alessandro, Lehman’s registered dietician, shares ways to eat more sustainably. Tips include: make a meal plan, use what's on hand, and know when things go bad.

👟 Spend time outside doing activities that help you enjoy nature. 🪴 Find creative ways to reuse containers. For those you can't reuse, recycle appropriately. 🍎 Think about how your environment impacts your mood and wellness and create an environment to support your needs.

Alumnus in Print

John Mejias '13 (second from right), who earned an MFA in printmaking at Lehman, recently presented his work to faculty and students. His forthcoming book, The Puerto Rican War, uses his intricate wood block prints to illustrate an imaginative retelling of a critical event in Puerto Rican history. His self-published version of the book was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Life-Changing Research 

Associate Professor Julio Gallego-Delgado (Biological Sciences) oversees a team of student researchers investigating two of the deadliest complications of malaria: acute kidney injury and cerebral malaria. Follow Lehman on Instagram for a spotlight featuring Professor Gallego-Delgado’s research for World Malaria Day on Thursday.
