One of the best known prophecies/predictions of our Mayan elders is the message of a changing paradigm. Websters definition of 'paradigm': One that serves as a pattern or model. A set or list of all the inflectional forms. A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them, especially in an intellectual discipline.
So As Within - So As Without
In the words of the Maya, it is said we are in a time of "change and conflict." In trying to better identify the two, let's say 'change' is coming from the outside in the way of weather, natural phenomena, celestial disturbance, and man-made self-inflicted trauma. The experience of conflict comes from the 'inside' in the way of personal challenge, grief, bewilderment, depression, anxiety, fear.
Ancient text in all forms - from the Bible to the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Mayan calendar, all tell us of challenging times ahead as we adjust, or morph, into our new state of being. Related to the Earth, it will be in the form of earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes, severe storms, heat waves and freeze waves. As related to humans, it may come in the form of emotional or mental anguish such as depression, anxiety, fatigue, rage, bewilderment.
I would suggest the most prominent connection between ancient text and modern science is the understanding and application of magnetism i.e. charged particles. Here I will layout the latest research in what science has learned about the influence of magnetic flux and fields.
It has become clear that our ancestors knew there was a connection between the Sun - various celestial events within our galaxy - and its effect on us. Scientific studies have shown some emotional and mental disturbance is the result of nerve cells being over or under excitable via electric magnetic currents. In this context, successful treatment is achieved by modifying these cells' behavior using magnetic stimulation.
