Generational Trauma: Healing the Ancestors Inside Me

with Sergio Ocampo, LMFT, SEP

All of us are the product of a long human lineage that not only influences our minds, but also our physical experience. Our ancestry brings with it the overwhelming emotional experiences that our ancestors pass on to us.  Working as a group, we will learn and support each other towards reaching deep insights and applying the science of Somatic Therapy towards healing.

Queering the Risk Assessment

Earn your suicide CE for renewal!

LGBTIQ+ youth report suicidality more often than their gender normative peers. This group also has a higher rate of completed suicide than their peers. While assessing for risk of suicidality is challenging for most counselors and this is particularly true for children and adolescents, it is clear that we must do better at assessing risk and developing effective safety plans for our LGBTIQ+ youth. This presentation will address specific considerations for counselors when engaging with this population for risk assessment and provide recommendations for the development of effective safety plans.

Certificate in Somatic Psychotherapy & Practices

The demand is soaring for practitioners qualified in somatic therapeutic approaches that acknowledge the powerful body-mind connection for effective healing. Join this rare opportunity for graduate level practitioners to integrate this leading-edge knowledge into one's current practice, learning from renowned somatic experts. In just three online weekend residencies, earn 30 CEs (CEUs) and enhance your therapeutic skill set with Antioch University’s Somatic Psychotherapy Certification.

Y Are We Together? The BIPOC Couples Experience

Due to the lack of cultural relevancy of couples therapy interventions, many therapists struggle to understand the relational dynamics among people of color. Rashida Ingram provides an approach for clinicians working with BIPOC couples that centers relational experiences within context and culture to help couples therapist's and other professionals recognize positive factors that cultivate high-quality relationships.
