Dearest Opera Friends,
Greetings from OOTJ headquarters in beautiful downtown Lynchburg! We hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer, and can't wait to see you throughout the fabulous TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY SEASON we're working hard to deliver!
Peter, Laura and I are thrilled that, for the first time, our entire Anniversary Season Schedule is on sale now!
As we begin to seek sponsorships and sell advertisements for those presentations, and kick off the launch of our Twentieth Anniversary Hit the High Notes campaign in October, we want to thank you for being part of our vision for YOUR local opera company! Whether as a member of our audience, a friend, donor or performing artist, YOU are a stakeholder and a most crucial part of what makes Opera on the James so special.
We hope you will continue to invest in us as we secure our future, nurture and develop young artists, deliver quality productions, and care for our beautiful building as a good, downtown neighbor and economic development driver.
In the meantime, we’re about to start the new season with Puccini’s magical La Boheme. As past is prologue, I know you won’t be surprised to hear that we need production sponsors to make the magic happen once again. You can show your passion for opera by sponsoring your favorite production, artist, role or cost. Sponsorship benefits vary, but all contribute to your overall giving level with Opera on the James and may qualify you for additional donor benefits and recognition.
Please consider becoming a production sponsor and make your friends aware of this opportunity as well! Following is the list of items we need to cover. Please note: an anonymous sponsor has committed $25,000 toward the cost of the full orchestra.
This is your opportunity to take center stage and play a starring role in the opera that we live every day, as we keep this company going strong. We hope that you’ll give us that important gift of support today. On behalf of all we serve, thank you for your generosity and your commitment to Opera on the James.
Thanks as always for all you do for our community.
Operatically yours,
Perry
