Calling All Generous Souls!
Leanne Woodhouse
D42 Conference Chair
As we gear up for the District 42 Conference, we’re on the hunt for fabulous raffle prizes and delightful surprises. Whether you’re a seasoned Toastmaster, a business owner, or simply someone with a heart of gold, here’s your chance to make a difference!
Why Donate? Here’s the Scoop:
-
Showcase Your Brand: Got branded goodies from your business or workplace? Share the love! Donating your company’s swag—be it snazzy pens, mugs or keychains—puts your brand in the spotlight. It’s like a mini marketing boost, and who doesn’t love that?
-
Clear Out Those Closets: We all have that closet—the one where white elephant gifts, quirky trinkets, and “what-was-I-thinking” items gather dust. Well, it’s time to set them free! Your old lava lamp, that neon fanny pack, or the inflatable unicorn floatie—yes, they’re all welcome.
What Can You Donate? 🎈
-
Branded Merchandise: Pens, notebooks, water bottles, or anything with your logo.
-
Unused Gifts: That quirky mug Aunt Mildred gave you that you haven’t used yet? Perfect!
-
Unique Finds: Vintage board games, books, funky socks, or a framed motivational quote.
-
Experiences: Maybe you can offer a personalized workshop, a coaching session, or a homemade craft item.

Club Growth Director’s Report
Debbie Stearns, BBA, DTM
District 42 Club Growth Director 2023-24
March 31 marks a significant deadline for Toastmasters clubs across District 42 as it signals the last day for renewals to qualify for the Distinguished Club Program (DCP) point. As of the time of this writing, an encouraging 72.6% of the clubs within the district have already completed their renewals. However, if your club hasn't submitted its renewal yet, there's no need to panic. Clubs still have the opportunity to get into good standing until September 30.
For those who might have missed the initial deadline, it's crucial not to hesitate any longer. Renewing your club's membership not only ensures its active status but also contributes to the collective growth and success of the Toastmasters community.
Beyond the renewal deadline, another initiative, "Talk Up Toastmasters," also concluded on March 31. This campaign aimed to encourage clubs to boost their membership numbers. Notably, three clubs—Fifth Avenue Place, Connected Communicators, and Fluor Communicators—are on track to earn recognition for their efforts by gaining five or more members during this period (pending verification by Toastmasters International).
Furthermore, several other clubs have made commendable progress by recruiting between two to four new members between February 1 and March 31. Such growth is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of both existing members and club leadership.
To stay updated on the progress and achievements of clubs within District 42, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the district's website dashboard page. Here, you can access the latest information, resources, and insights to support your Toastmasters journey.
In conclusion, while March 31 may have marked the end of certain deadlines and initiatives, it also serves as a reminder of the ongoing opportunities for growth and development within the Toastmasters community. Whether it's renewing memberships, recruiting new members, or achieving milestones, every contribution counts towards building stronger, more vibrant clubs and empowering individuals to realize their full potential as communicators and leaders.

Road to DTMPW
Dorothy Jones. DTMPW
| Road to DTMPW Along the path to Distinguished Toastmaster, we learn the value of leadership and team building. When I began my Pathways journey 4 years ago, I was unaware of the Pathways requirements for achieving a DTM designation.
