Connection to SLM: First time Rodman Rider with team SLM
This will be my year riding for the Silver Lining Spinners! I decided to ride because I was so moved by the mission and impact of the organization, which I first learned about at Silver Lining's 8th Annual Match Gala. The success of Silver Lining's programs is unquestionable, with long lasting mentoring programs that serve youth in foster care and a specialized mentoring initiative for LGBTQ youth in care. Mentoring has played a huge role in my life, especially during my undergraduate studies. As a gay male, I sought out both male mentors and gay mentors that helped empower and guide me to be the person I always wanted to be. I would not be the person I am today without mentoring, which is why I am very excited to join the Silver Lining Spinners for the Rodman Ride!
On Saturday our riders will be riding 25, 50, or 100 miles on behalf of Silver Lining Mentoring. Now is your chance to support our Rodman Ride for Kids team by donating

Angelo Unwritten Film Screening
Angelo Unwritten Trailer
Silver Lining Mentoring is proud to partner with The Philanthropy Connection to offer a private screening of "Angelo Unwritten," a documentary film by award winning director, Alice Stone. The film (trailer) follows Angelo and his foster parents as they negotiate the pitfalls of the foster care system. After the film, Ms. Stone will discuss her motivations for tackling this bittersweet subject. You will also hear from current and former TPC grantees with experience in the foster care system - Boston CASA, Friends of the Children, Sibling Connections, and Silver Lining Mentoring - as they field questions and comments on the film.
Are you a young professional who is passionate about social justice & mentoring youth? Silver Lining Mentoring's Board of Ambassadors is a group of socially conscious young professionals who are passionate about the pressing need for mentoring and life-skills for youth in foster care. The group is dedicated to helping Silver Lining bring our mission and message to the greater Boston community. The participants share professional skills, connect with new people, build resources and broaden Silver Lining's scope of influence.
