Dear TCF Supporter,

Education is a powerful catalyst for change, especially for girls. Today, we have Zaitoon Kareem's incredible story to reaffirm this belief.

Zaitoon is a trailblazer who is breaking down barriers and achieving remarkable milestones. A TCF Alumna, she was the first girl in her family to go to school, the first to graduate from university, and the first one to pursue an MPhil Degree. We are extremely proud to share that she has recently been honoured with a prestigious Chevening Scholarship, and is among the top-ranking Chevening Scholars. Through this scholarship, Zaitoon is studying International Development and Education at Newcastle University in the UK.
Hailing from a underserved neighbourhood, Bhittaiabad, Karachi, Zaitoon witnessed the harsh realities of poverty at a very young age and overcame barriers such as gender-biased norms with courage, self-belief and the never-ending support of her mother. Today, she continues to inspire countless girls to dream big and pursue their aspirations!
"Education taught me to believe in myself and aim for what I truly deserve," Zaitoon reflects. "My mom has been my rock, standing by my side through it all. I hope my journey inspires young girls and their parents to prioritise education. Because once you've got that, the rest falls into place."
On International Day of the Girl, join us in celebrating the amazing potential of all girls by sharing Zaitoon's success story with your friends and family. Thank you for supporting the cause of education and giving girls like Zaitoon the power to lead fulfilling lives!
