A MESSAGE FROM CAMPUS DIRECTOR, ANDREW KATZ

With school ending for most of our kids this week and next, I know that we’re all turning our attention to summer activities. Camp at the JCC starts in a couple of weeks and, in the meantime, I hope you spend some quality time here at the JCC and enjoy our beautiful facilities and amazing programs.

  • Mazel Tov and congratulations to our preschoolers who are participating in their Moving Up ceremony today and moving on to kindergarten next year. I know their time in our preschool has them ready for this next phase! It’s always a little melancholy to see our four-year-olds moving on but I know we’ll see them at the JCC for after-school, camp and so many other programs!

  • Reminder that we are still looking for people willing to host our shlichot (emissaries) from Israel this summer. Check out the flyer below and please help so we can continue this very impactful program for our campers and our community. This year – more than ever – having these Israelis visit our community is important for them and for all of us. If you have any questions, want more information or are ready to sign up, please email Rachel Csakany.

  • Your JCC’s Annual Meeting is coming up next Thursday, June 20. We’ll have refreshments starting at 6:00 pm and the meeting beginning at 6:30 pm I encourage all of you to attend so you can hear about the great year we have had and our plans for the coming year. I also hope you will join with me in thanking our board president for the last two years, Gordan Zuckerman, for his service to our JCC and to welcome our incoming president Amy Landauer-Ruder as she begins her term as our board president. Many thanks, of course, to all of our dedicated board and committee members! Check out the flyer below for more information on next week’s meeting. I hope to see you there!

  • Finally, I want to remind you that this is a busy time of year at the JCC with many members and children coming and going to the pool, camp and all around. Please be very cautious in our parking lot. Drive slowly and follow all stop signs. Thank you for your patience and for being careful!

For those of you – like me – who are fortunate enough to be Dads, I wish you a very Happy Father’s Day this weekend! I hope to see you at the JCC (the weather this weekend looks great!) to celebrate!

Best,

Andy
