A MESSAGE FROM CAMPUS DIRECTOR, ANDREW KATZ

Today is the first day of summer, the longest day of the year and maybe the hottest day of the year, too! The William & Estelle Golub Family Pool has been quite busy with this heatwave, and I know our members have appreciated being able to cool off!

However, the hot weather has been a challenge for many on our staff and I want to thank them for their hard work and flexibility. Our aquatics team has done a great job keeping everyone safe during these very hot – and very busy – days at the pool. While many of us were in the pool and cooling off, they were working outside to keep us safe and open. Similarly, our maintenance team has been trying to complete their outdoor work in the mornings because of the heat but they have still managed to maintain our beautiful 26-acre property. Even our Early Childhood Education and After-School staff have had to adjust due to changes in the school schedule as well as the extreme heat.

Again, thank you to our dedicated – and probably very warm – staff for their hard work and dedication.

A couple of other reminders:

  •  You should have received an email this week about our annual spring appeal. I hope you will consider making a donation to help us continue to invest in the facilities and equipment at your JCC. You can click here to donate. We appreciate your support!

  • Interested in trying something new and fun to add to your exercise regimen? Belly dancing classes can be a great way to break up your routine and have a great time! Check out the flyers below and register to try something new!

  • Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Price Chopper/Market 32 is holding a celebration of the reopening of their Kosher departments inside the new Colonie Market 32 store. I hope you’ll join with others in the Jewish community to check out the new store and expanded offerings and to show the company your appreciation for their continued commitment to providing kosher food in our community. Check out the flyer below for more information!

Finally, I hope you will join us at tonight’s 103rd Annual Meeting here at the JCC (flyer below). Refreshments start at 6:30 p.m. and the program will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. I hope to see you here to celebrate the year we have had and to discuss our plans for the coming year and beyond!

I hope to see you at the JCC tonight and this weekend! Stay cool!

Best,

Andy
