Haulers on Union Parade & Concert
The Haulers on Union parade features the haulers of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams Thursday, May 19 in Concord. En route to Charlotte Motor Speedway to load in for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, the drivers will transport the race cars down Union Street in downtown Concord - arrival time is expected around 6 p.m. Event is 5-9 p.m. Come out and line the streets to welcome the teams to Charlotte! Stick around for performances by the Tams and Acoustic South!

Union Street Live Concert & Block Party
Join us for a free outdoor summer concert from regionally recognized musical entertainment in a family friendly atmosphere! Main Stage band is Jim Quick & Coastline. North Stage band is Pluto for Planet. Main Stage starts at 6 p.m., North Stage starts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16.

Artist Talk @ The Galleries!
This Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m. The Galleries will host a special Artist Talk & Demonstration. Meet two of the exhibiting artists from the Wanderlust exhibition (on display now) Sudie Rakusin and Maureen Collins. Learn about Sudie Rakusin's incredible 3D paintings and paper-mache sculptures and watch Maureen Collins demonstrate how she makes her enchanting Fairy Gardens (pictured Left). The event is free and open to the public, RSVP

Haulers on Union Parade & Concert!
On Thursday, May 19, don't miss the annual Haulers on Union parade and fan fest. More than 30 of your favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Series haulers will parade down Union Street en route to Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Starting at 5 p.m., fans can get into the racing spirit with a variety of activities including race cars on display, celebrity autographs, corn hole, horseshoes, life-size Connect 4, a beer garden and more.
A
free concert will kick off at 6:30 p.m. featuring country music artists Acoustic South followed by the sounds of beach music, soul and R&B from The Tams. Use #HaulersOnUnion to share your photos on social media!

Downtown Concord Businesses Recognized at Celebrate Cabarrus
Each May, the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation, the Cabarrus Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and Cabarrus Magazine come together to host an annual gala to recognize Cabarrus County's finest. From small businesses to outstanding individuals, the awards honor the success and appreciation of those that invest our community.
This year was especially exciting for Downtown Concord and the following businesses that were recognized by the community.
Union Street Bistro won Cabarrus Magazine's Reader's Choice Award for Best Fine Dining.
Southern Grace Distilleries won the Golden Helment Award for Small Business of the Year.
Gianni's Trattoria won the Golden Helmet Award for Restaurant of the Year.

The month of May should be loads of fun and very busy. We will be in Kannapolis May 6 and 7 for the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival..Also on May 14 is the Concord Festival here in downtown Concord. We look forward to seeing all of you on these weekends.
