Filling the Lane is thrilled to welcome our new and returning members to our program for the upcoming season. Our 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade teams are set and ready to make an impact. 


In the 9th-Grade Team, we have a talented roster, including Cameron Brown from Dundee Ridge Middle School, Criistofer Season from Avon Park High School, Damarion Harris from Lake Region High School, Douglas Smith from Lake Wales High School, Gabriel Nunez from Summerlin Academy, Jaylan Williams from Christian Academy, Jerald William from Haines City High School, Julian Vega from Haines City High School, Matthew Williams from Lakeland High School, Micah Motley from Daniel Jenkins Middle School, Qwani Flemming from Lake Region High School, and Shodrin Philips from Westwood Middle School.


Our 10th-grade team is equally impressive, with players like Darrick Downing Jr. from Ridge Community High School, Dontavis Pollock from Winter Haven High School, Jakhai Ford from Lake Region High School, Jordan Gunter from Auburndale High School, Julian Soria from Haines City High School, Keegan Long from Auburndale High School, Lynkon Ricks from Haines City High School, and Zachery White from Christian Academy.


The 11th-grade teams, Orange and Blue, showcase exceptional talents such as Axel Acevedo from McKeel Academy, Kaleb Nobles from Sebring High School, Axahr Hoskin from George Jenkins High School, Jose Silva from Avon Park High School, Eddy Hyppolite Jr. from Ridge Community High School, Keelan Anglin from George Jenkins High School, David J. Allen from Star Athlete Academy, Devin Scheib from Auburndale High School, Eugene Daniels from Christian Academy, Jaden McCoy from Lake Region High School, Joel Morales from Winter Haven High School, Jorge Ramirez from Lake Wales High School, Kobe Key from Ridge Community High School, and Princeton Wroy from Haines City High School.


Our 12th-grade team is comprised of top-notch players, including Lequae Clark from Davenport High School, Lucson Jean from Discovery High School, Makai Truitt from Sebring High School, Melvin Carrasquillo from McKeel Academy, Trevon Davis from Haines City High School, Tyrese Mayo from Winter Haven High School, Jodner from Lake Region High School, and Willie Wilson from Discovery High School.


We are excited about the journey ahead and plan to travel to various destinations to showcase our talent. As we gear up for the season, we also have members needing assistance with team fees and travel expenses. Our program's outreach extends far and wide across the county, and we are committed to supporting all our athletes in reaching their full potential.

FILLING THE LANE

StepN2ourlane dba: Filling the Lane is an IRS-registered 501 (c) 3 charitable organization based in Winter Haven, Central Florida. We are focused on empowering youth development to be all that they can be, breaking down barriers, and creating an honorable, diverse, equitable, inclusive, and supportive environment in which our youth can grow and achieve. We feel that sports are the best way to connect with youth and enfold them in the underserved areas of our community within Central Florida at large.

Filling the Lane hybrids, the sport of basketball, academic/personal workshops, and community service projects to provide a platform for holistic development. The goal is to supply each student-athlete and their family with the resources to improve, not only on the court but in life. We want to keep youth safe, keep them inspired, and connect them with mentors, encouraging and making their path easier toward higher education.


Mission Statement:

Our mission is to enrich youths’ educational experience by creating a structured, holistic, and nurturing support system that fosters personal and academic development, community involvement, leadership, and a decision-making skill set that will impact the World. Filling The Lane bridges the gaps between education, sports, arts, and community. The mission of Filling the Lane is to bridge the gaps between lesson and comprehensive to turn education into achievement. We believe we have cultivated a viable program model that attains this objective with the Filling the Lane Program


Vision Statement:

Filling the Lanes' vision is to engage the power of sport in order to bring together youth with positive mentorship, community engagement opportunities, and academic and social-emotional support.


Goal Statement:

The goal of Filling The Lane is to align programs that inspire excelling athletes, nurture personal development and self-realization, and “Fill The Lane between productive play on the (sports) field and appropriate decision-making”. Every year, participants complete at least 5 service projects.
