Principal's Message

Over the next few weeks, Report Cards (Grades K-8) & Semester Transcripts (Grades 9-12) will be mailed home from the district office. 


Thank you to our students for a great start to the 2nd semester. It was wonderful having everyone back on campus! Parents, please encourage your students to keep on track and actively participate in weekly labs and after lab activities. These are excellent instructional and enrichment opportunities for all our students.

Grade 11: SAT for All School Day - Parent Survey

Students who are taking U.S. History for the first time will be given the option of participating in SAT for All (a school day administration) on Wednesday, March 22 or the Gateway Writing Assessment in U.S. History on Monday, March 27. Students must successfully sit for one of these assessments to meet graduation requirements.


Parents will receive a survey link via email to submit your selection. The opt-in survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 27. If a student is not registered by the parent for the SAT for All via this survey link, then your student will participate in the Gateway Writing Assessment in U.S. History.

Grades 8 & 10: PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/NMSQT

Student score reports will be available in the Parent Portal starting Friday, January 13. You can find out more about student scores by clicking HERE.

Grade 8: Middle School to High School Transition

Eighth grade is a time of significant change! Students have evolving friendships and are experiencing more independence. It is also a time of transition. In the spring of every school year, students in 8th grade will complete transition activities and a four-year high school graduation plan. Please use the information provided by our GOC High School Counselors to learn more about registration, dual enrollment, high school graduation requirements and college and career planning.


We are excited to partner with you on helping your student with college and career. We know it can feel overwhelming at times.

Grades K-12: Online Learning Tips

Our Counseling Team would like to share 10 Basic Online Learning Tips for Parents. Research shows that online learning can increase retention by 25-60%; that is if your child is appropriately completing work and not playing video games! Some helpful tools; the Daily Check List and the Week at a Glance can help students stay on task and not miss anything as they work through subjects during the day.

Grades 4 & 5: Partnering for Student Success

Ms. Santiago-Fecht, counselor for students in grades 4 and 5 will facilitate the last workshop in January designed to help students be successful at GOC. Students will have an opportunity to participate in engaging activities that will help them learn and/or review helpful strategies and tools to do their best in the second semester. This session will be 30 minutes. If students are interested in attending this workshop, please RSVP on the link below.

Grades 4-12: Roost & Boost

Come join us for Roost and Boost the week of January 24-26 where you can connect with a content teacher to receive support with specific subject areas. This is an in-person academic assistance session, where a teacher from each content area (math, language arts, science, and social studies) will be available to provide academic support to students. All students are welcome and may choose which content area to attend but are strongly encouraged to attend a targeted content area if they receive a personal invitation from a teacher.

Grade 7: Career Field Trips - Save the Date

We are excited to share that students in 7th grade will have the opportunity to attend two Career Field Trips this year.

Grayson Tech


Grayson Tech is a technical education facility that offers 12 career pathway programs. Programs currently include Commercial Photography, Culinary Arts, Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, Exercise Physiology, Graphic Design, Information Support Services, Game Design, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Music Technology, Sports Medicine, TV and Video Production, and Veterinary Science. Students in each program earn four total credits, with at least one academic credit.

Maxwell High School

of Technology


Maxwell High School of Technology provides programs that prepare students to enter the service industry or a post-secondary institution by providing Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) training. Click HERE to access programs offered at Maxwell.

Grades K-8: 2023 Art Tapestry

Gwinnett Online Campus students receiving Visual Arts classes will participate in the 2023 Gwinnett County Fine Arts Festival, Art Tapestry. The exhibit will be held March 7-13 at the ISC building. There will not be a large opening night but there will be nightly cluster rotations (dates coming soon). However, exhibiting students and their guests are invited to view the show anytime the building is open. Exhibiting students should expect more information in the coming weeks regarding their selected artwork.

Grades K-12: 2022-23 GOC Lookbook Interest

We have some exciting news! GOC is producing our version of a yearbook again this school year called The GOC Lookbook!

 

We have a group of students who have been working with one of our teachers on designing and publishing our Lookbook since August. Our GOC Lookbook will capture full-time students on campus in grades K-12, including classroom shots as well as pictures from clubs and activities throughout the school year. We hope this will be a book that your student can keep as a memory of their year at Gwinnett Online Campus. The GOC Lookbook will not include individual portraits of students.

Grades K-12: Gaming Tournament

ALL students are welcome!! Please register TODAY for GOC's Gaming Tournament scheduled for Friday, January 27. We are finalizing our plans for the event and need students to sign up ASAP so that we can plan accordingly.


We will have various video game options such as Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers along with a selection of table top board games. Snacks and refreshments will also be available.

Students in grades K-3 must have one parent/guardian attend this event with them. Space is limited; one adult may accompany each student in grades K-3.

We need parent volunteers to bring in donations of items for the gaming tournament. Please click HERE to sign up. Donations should be dropped off in the front lobby no later than Wednesday, January 25.

Grades 9-12: Social Lounge Meeting

Please join us for the first Social Lounge Meeting of 2023 scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 from 1-2 p.m.


Social Lounge is a group where we explore various topics related to Social Studies. In January, we will be using Psychology to analyze Pop Culture and Media.

Come join us on Friday, February 10 for our Springtime in Paris Dance for students in grades K-5 and 6-8. Get your tickets TODAY before it is too late! Tickets are limited and prices will increase as we get closer to the event.

Everyone in attendance will be required to register and pay on MyPaymentsPlus including the parent/guardian for students in grades K-5 and the non-GOC guest for students in grades 6-8. GOC students must secure a pre-purchased admission ticket via their MyPaymentsPlus account for their guest prior to the event.

Please note that the Spring Dance for grades 9-12 is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at Laundry Events in Downtown Lawrenceville. More information to come.

Grades 6-8: VIRTUAL Breakfast with Buddies

GOC's “Breakfast with Buddies” Program is an opportunity for students to enjoy breakfast from home with their school counselor every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. to develop meaningful relationships with peers and caring adults! This connection may positively impact the student and their learning!
