Latest Developments & Updates @ Trinity
Hey Trinity,
Our Trustees have worked hard over the past few years to make improvements around the church property. This includes recent projects on the breezeway, such as installing new cement and paint. We are thrilled to announce that the breezeway project is officially complete with the installation of new sunshades. Be sure to hang out and enjoy the new sunshades and picnic tables!
Last year, we were fortunate enough to purchase a new van for our growing kids and student ministry, and it recently received a fresh logo wrap. Now, we can ride around town in style, representing Trinity UMC in the community.
Lastly, there is a faded and hard-to-see "Trinity Entrance" sign right as you pull into the parking lot. However, we updated our entrance sign thanks to World of Signs so everyone can enter the property safely. We hope this improvement will help us attract new families on Sunday mornings. You'll also notice new directional signage inside the building that helps all our guests and members find their way!
These upgrades were only possible because of your generous giving throughout the year! Thank you for entrusting our Trustees team to utilize the funds wisely and make these improvements to our church facilities!

Is this the end of Trinity's Disaster Ministry?
Trinity’s Disaster Ministry has reached a point where it will not be able to provide assistance to the congregation as we have in the past due to a lack of volunteers and skill sets.
The primary mission of the Disaster Ministry is to assist our congregation in disaster planning and preparedness, preparing their property for a storm, and assisting them after a storm. We also help the congregation by doing home repairs and cutting grass when they cannot do it themselves and can’t afford to pay someone.
After we take care of our congregation, we will assist the community after a disaster. We also take on some community outreach projects. Currently we are cutting grass at Children in Crisis every other month.
The majority of our team members are getting to the point that they cannot physically complete all tasks required to support our congregation. Our oldest team member is 82, one is 77, and several are over 60.
We do not have anyone who can climb a ladder, much less put a tarp on a leaking roof. We are also in need of chainsaw operators. We need several younger team members who are willing to be trained and serve those in our congregation who need assistance. Men, women, and teenagers are all welcome. Show your kids what it means to serve others.
Waiting for a storm or disaster to volunteer is too late. There is training involved for some of the tasks we have been called on to perform. We have all the equipment. We just need YOU to use it.
Let us know if you want more information or are ready to volunteer by contacting us at disaster@trinityfwb.org.
Two church-wide events for September were organized by the Disaster Ministry. Please join us.
-
September 7th we will be cutting grass at Children in Crisis.
-
September 14th we will be cleaning up the yard of a church member with assistance from the youth group. Parents of the youth students, you are also welcome to join us. Please meet at the church at 8 a.m. Wear pants and closed-toed shoes; bring gloves if you have them

COMMUNION RAIL (SEPT. 1)
This Sunday, we are having communion during both services. During communion, there will be a basket on the altar. This is our communion rail fund, which is used to support a church member or organization in our community in need. The September communion rail will support one of the big supporters of Soup Kitchen Ministry, Destin Harvest, and some of the vehicle maintenance.

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY (SEPT. 15)
"Back to Church Sunday" will be held on Sunday, September 15. It's a perfect opportunity for all of us to come together, rekindle our faith, and share the love and joy of our church with others. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to join us for worship on that day. We look forward to welcoming you back and worshiping with you!
As a special incentive, everyone who brings new friends or family members will have the chance to win an awesome basket of goodies. We are called to "go and make disciples," and what better way to do that than by inviting them to church with you!
We'll see you there!

THANK YOU DINNER (SEPT. 25)
Our Kids and Student ministry wants to say THANK YOU! Your generous support this summer made a huge impact on our students and kids, and words cannot express how thankful we are for your support. Instead of words, we'll try with food! To say thank you, please join us for a special dinner on Wednesday, September 25, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Memorial Fellowship Hall.

Growth Through Prayer (Wednesdays)
1 Timothy 2:1 says, "I urge then, FIRST OF ALL, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people." This is the inspiration behind the First of All Prayer Group that meets each Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in C102. Our heart is to grow in knowledge and understanding of the spiritual gift of prayer through reading, instruction, and discussion. Our goal is to grow as prayer warriors personally and collectively, lifting up one another, our church, our community, and the world through the power of prayer. We use study material and scripture to help us understand and see the relevance of scripture in our daily lives.
If you're interested in growing your prayer life or learning more, we hope you'll join our First of All Prayer Group on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. in C102, but don't just take our word for it; check out these awesome testimonies from those that are currently attending below:

United Women in Faith Fall Meeting (Sept. 28)
The United Women in Faith will host their fall join meeting event of the Southeast and Pensacola UWFaith Districts here at Trinity UMC on Saturday, September 28. Women of Trinity, you are invited to attend!
We will have a program including scripture, communion, election of officers, taking pictures, sharing history, and most of all being a part of the creative supportive fellowship. It is a chance to meet members from both parts of the Panhandle. If you have a picture, a program booklet, or other memorabilia from a past District event, please bring it to share for a display. Yes, we are charting a new course next year; let's start it off with enthusiasm and prayers for a great and growing 2025 for UWFaith Panhandle District.
To keep things easy, we will each bring our own Bag Lunch. We will need to pre-register and provide email addresses in case we need to cancel due to weather. (We are in the height of hurricane season.) A $10.00 per person registration fee will cover our audio/tech and custodial fees.
Please register by Sept 23, 2024. Send name(s) with email address(es) and your church name to Deb Ketzel, President, Southeast District UWFaith, ketzel2@outlook.com, 815-821-3615.
