About Us

We create artwork and sell it through Delaware area art shows and exhibits, as well as through our website!  Youth who have been sentenced to secure facilities through the Family Court of Delaware help run our business. The majority of our artists have had little to no art training prior to their sentences. Their creativity and sense of expression is impressive; some would say it is outstanding!

Created by Ashely Biden and Joni Silverstein, Young@Art  is also an entrepreneurial venture dedicated to providing our youth training in every aspect of our business. Students have the opportunity to be trained in marketing, database development and management, photography, and other aspects of our business.

Our youth earn money in a variety of ways: through the sale of their artwork, by working in one of our business departments, or by working our booth at area art shows and exhibits. Some of the money they earn goes to pay fines of restitution they have received through the juvenile justice system. The other part of the money is held in an account until their release; at that time it is given to them so that they return to their community with some level of financial well-being. The youth can continue to have their art sold through Young@Art long after they have been released. They can also continue to volunteer to work at art shows after they have been released.

Youth opportunities exist at the Creative Vision Factory and the Pegasus Art Program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware. Other internship opportunities are constantly being reviewed.
