Where Was The March Newsletter???

I fell (for no reason at all!) on March 6 and ended up in the hospital with three fractures in my pelvis. This was one of the most painful experiences I have endured in my illustrious saga of medical incidents. One week in the hospital followed by two weeks at an inpatient rehabilitation facility. What I know for sure; the older we get, the harder it is to climb the mountain to recovery.
If my injury wasn't bad enough, Steve fell on March 16 and broke his hip. He had surgery and then took up residence in the room across the hall from me at rehab. Definitely not the honeymoon suite! I went home March 27 followed by Steve 5 days later. We were quite the pair...2 wheelchairs and 2 walkers.
We have been blessed with family traveling from around the country to take turns caring for us. Our neighbors have been amazing delivering meals and gift cards to help out. Everyone's kindness and generosity has overwhelmed us.
I'm happy to report that we are both making slow but steady progress and hope to be back to our "normal" selves sometime soon.

So, that's why there was no March Newsletter.

Great Accessibility!

One of my younger clients, Sean Stenglein, visited Nashville, TN with his family recently. Sean is a full-time wheelchair user and wrote an excellent article about his visit and what he experienced regarding access.
All in all, Sean had an very good time and we are very pleased to share his report with you.

Sean is currently planning a cruise to the British Isles in summer of 2022 with his family. Maybe he'll do another article on that trip as well.

MY PANDEMIC READING LIST

Everyone seems to be enjoying my "Pandemic Reading List" and the books I've read since March. I'm enjoying your comments and book suggestions! Books below in red are my newest reads. I truly love escaping into the pages and lives of the characters.

Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner
Cooking For Picasso by Camille Aubrey
Educated by Tara Westover
Summer of 69 by Elin Hilderbrand
Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
Florence Adler Swims Forever by Rachel Beanland
American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
An Unorthodox Match by Naomi Ragen
Beneath A Scarlett Sky by Mark Sullivan
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
Eli's Promise by Ronald Balson
Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate ( One of my favorites!)
Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
The Last Tackle by James Wallgren (read review above)
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Time For Mercy by John Grisham
Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson
Four Winds by Kristin Hannah (currently reading)

Some of these are easy reading (Chick Lit) but some are fairly intense. Enjoyed every one of these books. Reading is a great escape to another time and place which I think we can all use a little of right now.
New House UPDATE:

Lots of progress has definitely been made over the past several weeks. It's exciting to check out the house every week or so and see what's new. We are most likely 8 - 12 weeks from completion. I had a great time at the Design Center choosing all of our upgrades and now I spend countless hours looking at furniture and window coverings online. Keeps my mind off my achy back!
We Do Individual & Group Travel
Do you know that we actually plan more trips for individuals than we do for our groups? We love when you participate in our groups but please remember to call us when you want to plan a vacation for the two of you or with a group of friends or family members. We can most likely plan any type of vacation you want and we will be sure to address all your accessibility requirements and needs. We so enjoy doing the research for you and look forward to planning that next trip just for you! Also, if you see one of our groups that you would like to do but perhaps the dates don't work, give us a call. We can usually duplicate the same trip just for you and your travel companions.
