Welcome to EAPO's e-Newsletter!
This month, Seniors Month, we came together as a community to honor the ongoing and valued contributions made by older adults to society as a whole inspiring us all, while celebrating their many gifts and diversity.
As well we marked World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, celebrated Pride Month, and acknowledged Indigenous History Month, in all instances, reflecting on the value of raising awareness of issues that matter to older persons but doing so with respect and inclusivity within our communities. WEAAD brings communities together, demonstrating how older people can be empowered to participate in decision making processes that impact their quality of life.
In this e-Newsletter, you will find engaging articles, resources, and our showcase of community events, which focused on uplifting older adults, promoting understanding, and fostering a more inclusive society. We encourage you to explore these resources, learn about our events, and share your thoughts with us as together, we continue to build a supportive and connected community.

EAPO joins the community in mourning the passing of Judith Wahl, former Executive Director of the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE). Judith was a friend and colleague of our staff and Board members for many years, collaborating on countless projects, speaking at events and ever so graciously sharing her time and legal expertise with seniors and service providers alike. She personally empowered so many with the necessary knowledge to be able to advocate for their own rights.
Judith will be remembered by all for her fierce advocacy for seniors, her lifetime work on the issues of consent, capacity, substitute decision-making and elder abuse prevention. Read full memoriam from ACE
