Greetings!
"Hi!"
Okay - mid-March already? We get asked if it's the slow season around here - NO is the answer, we are humming right along in 2012!
Digging myself out from the pile of wood shavings in the shop, I was pleased to see the Kimmel bass in the house - I met Seth Kimmel in Pennsylvania at the 2009 ISB show where we both won ISB Silver Medals for Tone. It's very cool to see the directions he's taken with this instrument, we're happy to make a compatriot's work available on the East Coast!
There are some new additions in our showroom, quite different in styles but very high in quality - Dave's been working on new listings and has details below - ALSO, late for this issue to get pictures, but there is a giant HAWKES bass now haunting our shop...
Please let us know your impressions as we break in
And as always, the best is yet to come...so stay tuned!!!And remember, if you have a favorite video clip, performance, or multimedia piece that is double related you want to share with me (and several thousand of my closest friends), please eMail me at eroy@uptonbass.com. Thanks!

Pollmann Bass 2003
A Gamba-pattern gem from Mittenwald's nutty duo of Michael and Ralph Kramer! The product of four generations of the Poellmann Contrabass legacy.
Beautiful, lyrical arco tone. Gorgeous in shape and detail.

Rudolph Fiedler Bass 2002
Another classical beauty that really sings with the bow is this R. Fiedler Buscetto-cornered fully carved bass.
This instrument has been featured in solo orchestral settings and has a powerful, even sound through the range. |
