BRANCH HIGHLIGHT
Parkway Village Library Provides Tailor Made Services to Community
It may seem to take a village to provide all the programs and services offered at Parkway Village Library. Customers to the branch - regardless of age - will find a variety of specialized resources tailor made especially for them.
"All of our programming is designed to meet the special interests and needs of this community," noted branch manager Sara Ellen Reid. "We have a lively and diverse adult book club and a newly-formed teen book club. Also, there are a number of special programs and storytimes for the many childcare centers in our area."
Some adult seminars offered at the branch are the "First-Time Homebuyers" workshop, "Improve Your Credit Score" seminar, "A to Z of Used Car Buying," Job Search Day with the Library's JobLINC and the Tennessee Career Coach, "Vegetable Gardening," and English as a Second Language sessions. Adults can also take advantage of the Job and Career Center housed at Parkway Village Library - one of only five in the Memphis Public Library System!
Students can access the homework assistance they need each Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, at the Library's Homework Help Center, and everyone can enjoy the inviting facility. Reid said, "Thanks to our Friends of the Library, customers will find new chairs in the public areas and a 42-inch television in the meeting room.
