Hello Paula,
Welcome to your home away from home! As you start your Lakehead journey, you'll want to learn all about the gems in our beautiful Thunder Bay.
| | |
Explore Thunder Bay
Thunder Bay is located on the shores of the world's largest freshwater lake, Lake Superior. With nearly 2200 hours of sunlight each year, Thunder Bay is the sunniest city in Eastern Canada. Watch this video to learn more!
| |
Thunder Bay Multicultural Association (TBMA) works toward a society in which all people from diverse ethnocultural backgrounds can participate fully in Canadian life, working together with respect, fairness and acceptance. They often have events and activities for newcomers to Canada.
| |
Unlimited Transit U-Pass
One of the best ways to travel around the city is by using your Lakehead University Student Union Unlimited Bus Pass (U-Pass). It offers unlimited use of public transit to our students. Visit the LUSU website to learn more about the U-Pass.
| |
Lakehead University Student ID
Before you enroll in your U-Pass, you must have your student ID card. Apply for your student ID online as a new student. A student card application is required. You will receive your physical Student Card when you arrive on campus.
| |
Thunder Bay Bus Transit Route | |
There are 17 bus lines in our city's public transit, but the 2 lines that will connect you to Lakehead University are Line 2 Crosstown and Line 9 Junot.
The bus transit line name refers to the endpoint of the route. For example, on the bus route named Junot to Waterfront, the final destination is the Waterfront Terminal. Read the bus line name and number, and check the bus schedule through Google Maps or NextLift to plan their adventures around the city.
