This comic adaptation of Shakespeare's Richard III is being shown for the first time since its premier.

Founder of BooDog Films and the Oddfellow Theater, Mike Miclon is responsible for creating videos and short films in ten countries on four continents in the last eleven years.  A veteran of the stage, he's perhaps best known locally for his hit comedy The Early Evening Show, the longest running variety show in Maine history.

Adapted from Oddfellow Theater's live performance of Richard III, which the Portland Phoenix called "comedic genuis," this Shakespeare spoof reflects Miclon's many years on stage as both a performer and a creator.

Shot in numerous locations throughout Maine from Fort Popham in Phippsburg to the former St. Patrick's Church in Lewiston, Richard3 features over 200 extras and actors, including many Celebration Barn alumni.  Production on the film began summer of 2012 and after two years of work plus a successful fundraising campaign through Kickstarter, Miclon and his team are preparing to enter the film in festivals across the country.

Miclon reports, "In June we had the great fortune to show the First-Cut of Richard3 at the Emerge Film Festival to a sold-out crowd of 428 people.  Now we have been sharpening our editing knives and have prepared the Second-Cut."
