Dear Carlos Rosario School Community,
As we embark on the 2024-25 school year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. Your dedication and hard work in enrolling and giving a warm welcome to our students makes a difference for each individual student - both those coming back to continue with us and those who are setting foot in a Carlos Rosario School classroom for the first time.
We are evolving as a School in real time, collaborating to create the best possible experience for our learners from their first interaction with one of our team members to the day they walk across the graduation stage, and beyond.
As we move forward, let’s continue to build on this strong start and our momentum for a year where we aspire to new heights!
With sincere gratitude and warmest regards,

SY24-25 School Parking Reminders and Updates
|
Parking availability at the Carlos Rosario School is limited and finite at both campuses, and it's essential that we all follow the established guidelines to ensure a smooth and equitable parking process for everyone.
Parking Guidelines – You can find HERE detailed parking guidance for both campuses housed on our Intranet. It includes guidance for event parking, all staff about where to park, speed limit, driving directions, etc for all staff. Below are a few general guidelines for both campuses.
-
Handicap Spaces: These are strictly reserved for those with a valid handicap permit assigned to them.
-
Bus and Van Spaces: These spaces are reserved exclusively for school transportation vehicles.
-
Double Parking: Please note that double parking is not permitted at any time.
SG Campus: Parking is allocated through a lottery system. If you do not win the lottery, you may park at Colonial Parking (near the Rhode Island Metro Station) as an alternative.
HS Campus: Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not park in spaces marked “reserved”, unless you are an administrator who has been assigned to one of those spaces.
- It’s important for all staff to adhere to transportation options provided in advance, like Shuttle Service, to avoid such issues and to ensure fair access to parking for everyone and smooth event operations. The Front Desk and Transportation team is researching a permanent solution for overflow parking, but in the interim, below you’ll find guidance for a temporary option.
-
NEW! Overflow parking temporary option: If you are unable to find available parking at HSC, you may park at the Target garage located at Columbia Heights. Garage entrances are located at either 3145 Hiatt Place NW, or 1422 Park Rd. NW. The fee is approximately $12 for up to 12 hours. It is .4 mile or ~10-minute walk to the HS Campus. Please keep your parking receipt and the school will reimburse you. You can find the reimbursement form here on the Intranet under the Finance Home Page.
Questions or concerns, contact Gigi Alvarado, Business Manager, at galvarado@carlosrosario.org or Ext #4723.

Staff Survey from Accenture
|
We have welcomed our partner Accenture to support our efforts to streamline and optimize our registration process and are excited to share a few words from their team here:
“Congratulations on completing student registration and beginning the school year! The Accenture team is so grateful that you supported our observations of the registration process and took time out of your days to speak with us about the workflow at your stations and your thoughts on process improvements.
While we did have a chance to speak with many of you during our time on-site, we did not get to speak with all of you and want to make sure everyone is able to share their input: all of your voices matter as we consider opportunities to enhance the student registration process.
Administered by the Accenture team, this anonymous survey HERE invites you to share reflections on this year’s registration process and provide any suggestions for the future. We estimate it will take about 10 minutes of your time and the survey closes on Tuesday, 9/10 at 8:00 PM. If you have any questions on the survey, please do not hesitate to reach out to sarah.y.lehar@afs.com.“
Thank you so much!
