CHACONNE - A BAROQUE RECITAL
New solo CD from Manuel Barrueco
with music of Bach, Scarlatti and Weiss
Tonar Music� announces the release of "Chaconne - A Baroque Recital" featuring Grammy nominated guitarist Manuel Barrueco.
The new CD features Barrueco's own transcriptions for the classical guitar: Suite No. 1 in G Major, one of Bach's most transcribed cello suites; five Sonatas by Scarlatti whose bold harmonic language was colored by the flamenco music that surrounded him; Suite No. VII by Weiss, a beautiful suite originally written for the lute; and the CD concludes with the Chaconne from the D minor Partita for solo violin, one of the pinnacles of Bach's solo instrumental compositions.
