"Black Fashion Designers"
"Black Fashion Designers"  on display through May 16th 2017 at The Museum at FIT in New York City, examines  the significant, but often unrecognized, impact that designers of African descent have had on fashion. Unlike previous exhibitions, "Black Fashion Designers" explores the experiences of several generations from the 1950's to the present. 
The exhibition which took nearly two years to complete features 75 pieces from more than 60 designers taken from the FIT Museum's permanent collection displayed in themed sections. The exhibition celebrates designers whose heritage influenced their inspiration and creations, making a cultural impact on the fashion world.
"Black Fashion Designers" features the iconic Schlappi 2200 collection supplied by DK Display . We are proud to be a part of the first major exhibition at the FIT Museum that highlights and celebrates the global history of black fashion designers.
