What's Happening Week of July 15

From the Director's Desk

Dear Delia,

In striking down Chevron, the Supreme Court has now cut back sharply on the power of federal agencies to interpret the laws they administer— including the SEC. Join us on August 1 at 10:00am PT for an emergency webinar on Beyond Chevron: The SEC, Shareholder Activism, and Corporate Change. What mechanisms will the SEC use to regulate public markets? What is the impact on shareholder activism?

Speakers include Sheila Ennis, Managing Director, Head of Investor Relations, H/Advisors Abernathy; Danielle Fugere, President & Chief Counsel, As You Sow; and Raquel Fox, Partner & Head of US ESG practice & co-head of SEC Reporting & Compliance practice, Skadden; formerly SEC Division of Corporate Finance & Office of Rulemaking; and Stavros Gadinis, Professor and Faculty Director, Berkeley Law. CLE credit will be available.
