GREETINGS PRAYER WARRIORS!  May is not only a beautiful month in Hollywood, but it is also both Mental Health Awareness Month and Ichthyosis Awareness Month.  So, we have prayers for both below!  Our prayer for you this week is to let you see more ways to pray for our industry and mission field.  So,  let’s pray for the people, the projects, and the issues that impact our world….

Jessica Oyelowo's Becoming King



We thank God for our friends David and Jessica Oyelowo, who’s new documentary Becoming King is inspiring audiences everywhere! The powerful film, which was many years in the making, gives an intimate look into the background and process of David stepping into the role of the greatest Civil Rights leader of our time - Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. If you’re in LA, celebrate with us by attending HPN’s private screening TOMORROW, May 16th! Met Gala, Christians in Fashion and Pamela Anderson



We are praising God for HPN’s first-ever gathering of Christians in the fashion industry. Last week we hosted a Met Gala Watch Party for LA professionals in Fashion, Make-Up, Hair, Wardrobe Design and Modeling, to build a community of like-minded people in the very difficult Fashion industry. Please pray for all of the believers in Fashion to find community, prayer and encouragement.  As you look through this list of Met Gala attendees, will you pray for them and the thousands of creatives who made them look incredible? Let's also pray for one Met Gala attendee, Pamela Anderson, who gave her life to the Lord 20+ years ago, and has even been a Sunday school teacher! Pamela is still bold about her faith and prayer life, and we can see the Love of God shining through her, even at the Met Gala!

Russell Brand's Life is Transformed by Jesus!

We continue to praise God and pray for Russell Brand, who just got baptized (WATCH HERE) to confirm his new Christian faith. Would you pray for this powerful step in his growing relationship with Jesus and that strong Christian peers will come alongside Russell to encourage, disciple, and pray for him and his wife? And let's lift him up in prayer as he balances his new faith in Jesus with his ongoing stardom. Our prayers make a difference!

Hollywood Needs to Get back to Work!

We need your prayers as IATSE West Coast Locals negotiate with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) over wages and AI. Our industry can’t handle much more unrest and so we ask that you pray that these negotiations can come to an end and an agreement can be reached between the industry’s strongest union and the AMPTP. We had hoped that people would get back to work after the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes ended, but that didn’t happen - and insiders believe that the IATSE strike is the main cause. Many people have moved out of LA, changed careers or are just hanging on, so we need your prayers and ask that the Lord intervenes with His wisdom, discernment, peace and love. Oh, and work!

Filmmakers tackling real-life issues

Because May is Ichthyosis Awareness Month, HPN wants you to be aware! Ichthyosis is a rare skin disease that impacts 16,000 people annually. Two young HPN members are producing a low-budget film to bring awareness to this disease and we want you to know about how members of our community are making a difference through storytelling. Miss Matched, the 1st film ever to positively represent Ichthyosis, is in pre-production. Would you pray for Jonathan Green and Darby Barton as they tell this creative story with a positive message?

Weekly Devotional: Deception

"The enemy comes only to steal, kill and destroy.”  That’s the foundation of why we are all hurt at some point in our lives by deception.  This week we’re looking into how to deal with the deceiver and those who deceive, including ourselves.  Let’s not let the enemy deceive us in any way or at any time!

Pentecost Prayer Hike 🔥

Join us on Saturday, May 18th for a Pentecost Prayer Hike to the Hollywood Sign, hiking the Wonderview Trail. We will meet at 4:00 PM at the entrance to the trail, under the "NOT A THROUGH STREET" sign. We will have communion and prayer around the wisdom tree. If you would like to join, please register by clicking the link below. THIS TRAIL REQUIRES PROPER HIKING SHOES and does have some rocky and steep moments. Please do not bring pets or children, and be confident of your mobility if you plan to join us.

A new Hollywood Prayer Network community gathering is LAUNCHING. This is an intentional gathering for those who are believing for God's heart for marriage. So, we invite both single men and women to join in corporate prayer and worship as you seek God's will and timing for marriage (Men especially encouraged to apply!!). Don't be shy.
