Anonymous Art Show: That's a Wrap!

This year was our 20th annual exhibition! What a feat to be doing this for that long!

While we did not quite make our goal, we are so happy with what was achieved.

Number of Artworks sold: 404

Money raised: $40,400

We appreciate all those that helped spread the word for this festive fundraiser online, by word of mouth and by visiting the gallery with friends in-tow. It's that type of community backing that makes these big fundraisers a success!

We are so grateful for every customer, artist, volunteer, and installer who has made these 20 years possible, bringing your energy and enthusiastic support each year. To celebrate this milestone, we had TWO contests running: The Ultimate Prize Pack & the Golden Tickets.

The Anonymous Art Show ULTIMATE PRIZE PACK winner was drawn on Wednesday, Dec 20. Congratulations to local North Vancouver resident Catherine Lee!! We would like to thank Vancouver's North Shore Tourism for generously donating the prize pack (worth approx. $850):

  • 1 night stay with parking and breakfast at the Pinnacle Pier Hotel in North Vancouver
  • 2 tickets to Grouse Mountain
  • 2 tickets to Capilano Suspension Bridge
  • $25 North Vancouver Brewery Gift Card
  • Vancouver's North Shore Tourism merchandise

Golden Tickets

Hidden behind 11 artworks were some fabulous prizes generously donated by the following businesses:

Congratulation to everyone! Thank you to everyone who purchased an artwork and stopped into the gallery to marvel at the display this year. We are so grateful for the artists who put their hearts and souls into this fundraiser and a community that purchases and takes these artworks away into their own lives to cherish and enjoy.

Picking up your artwork

Purchased artwork can be picked up at CityScape Community ArtSpace during gallery hours (Wednesday - Saturday). We will be open again after the holidays on January 3.

Wishing you happy holidays, enjoying traditions with friends and family.

This past year has been another busy one for the North Shore Culture Compass, here's a quick look back:

  • added 63 new listings to the map, including schools, craft breweries, traditions, and welcoming new cultural organizations to our community
  • shared over 500 current events listed on the map
  • recognized with 3 awards

District of North Vancouver for Heritage Advocacy

District of West Vancouver for exceptional contributions to cultural diversity and vitality

Heritage BC for Education for Awareness and Communications

  • presented fun and engaging activations like BINGO (Heritage Week), Tourism Challenge Treasure Hunt, Pub Trivia, Craft Beer Treasure Hunt
  • connected with community at 5 events over the summer
  • produced the You Are Here calendar and art cards, our annual fundraiser
