This morning as I write this newsletter with a cup of oolong tea and the scent of sandalwood incense burning, fresh snow gently falls on trees laden with spring buds. It's a familiar feeling. Part of me is bursting with the excitement of fresh chi, creativity, projects; and the other part of me still wants to go to bed early and get up late!

One of the things I love most is checking in with clients to see how their Feng Shui "to do" list is going and how the energies are shifting for them. With great joy, one of my business clients recently reported that the de-cluttering and deep cleaning of her office made her over $2,000 richer as she found actual money plus uncashed checks! Just an extra blessing along with her increased productivity, fresh energy and space for new growth.

• Back up your computer
• Avoid signing contracts
• Double-check appointment times
• Expect travel delays
• Have back-up plans for your phone, computer, letters, faxes and emails

On the transcendental level, place Feng Shui cures for your telephones, computers and car. For each one of the following, see and feel the chi of protection, ease and calm.

• Purchase the Mercury Retrograde Parcel that has everything you need for your telephone and computer
• Put a small container of sea salt somewhere close to your computer (and empty after the retrograde)
• Tie a nine inch piece of red ribbon around any cord that attaches to your phones
• Hang a 40 or 50mm clear glittering faceted Swarovski crystal sphere (hung on 9" increments of red thread) in the center of the room where your computer and phone are OR directly above your desk
• Or, if you prefer, you can hang a metal wind-chime instead in the same places as above

Here are 5 ways to use mirrors in your Feng Shui decorating.

• Hang regularly shaped mirrors (rectangle, square, circle, oval, or octagon) opposite windows, flowers, water and beautiful views (not clutter!)

Cultivating our chi is a cherished practice and a precious jewel in Feng Shui. With great compassion and wisdom, reflect on how you can create more space, time, silence and rest in your life. Perhaps some of these ideas can inspire you...

1. Begin by acknowledging the 3-5 greatest loves of your life. Then kindly say "no" to everything else-people, requests, commitments, social engagements, etc.


2. Welcome your brand new day by greeting the first hour doing exactly what inspires, blesses and adjusts your energy for vitality, wonder and happiness. Maybe that's meditation, movement, journaling, aromatherapy bathing, offerings at your altar, walking in nature, dancing or chanting-whatever it is for YOU. End your day the same way, with the last hour before you sleep filled with meaningful quiet (no computers or cell phones or work).


3. Make a list of your top three energy drains (physical clutter, emotions, mental activity, habits, mindsets or people) in your life. Open your calendar and schedule time each week this month to clear them.


4. Take mini-sabbaticals from the noise and sensory overload. Choose one day each week to take time off from things such as watching or reading the news; tv and dvds; electronics; your computer; social networking and so on.


5. Simplify and delegate wherever possible--house cleaning, grocery shopping, errands. Have things delivered. Take public transport. Walk.


6. Have fewer things. Make space. Clear any clutter. Shop less.


7. Go more slowly.


8. Rest more. Take breaks. Nap. Go to bed earlier (by 11pm, the Hour of the Rat). Take a moment to deeply breathe.


9. Be more quiet. Talk less. Have minutes or hours or days of silence. Walk by yourself in nature.
