Pro-Life Groups Converge on Milwaukee as Democratic National Convention Takes Place
Democrats for Life of America and other pro-life groups are in Milwaukee for the Democratic National Convention (despite most events being held virtually). The groups held rallies Friday and Saturday, with former Louisiana Right to Life staffer Krista Corbello and intern T.J. Burgess taking part. DFLA also submitted a letter to the DNC asking members to soften their stance on abortion. Among those signing the letter were Gov. John Bel Edwards and a number of other state officials.

Love Life Amendment will be No. 1 on Ballot; Can You Help Spread the News in Louisiana?
This fall, on the Nov. 3 presidential ballot, you will have the opportunity to vote on a pro-life constitutional amendment called the "Love Life Amendment," and it will be No. 1 in the list of constitutional amendments on the ballot. This is a crucial effort to protect unborn babies and their mothers by making sure there is no right to abortion or the funding of abortion in the Louisiana Constitution. The submission deadline for photos for the for the 2021 Right to Life calendar has been extended to Sept. 1. Can you submit a baby picture of your child or grandchild that can be included? The calendar is put out yearly by Louisiana and New Orleans Right to Life.
Are you a Louisiana citizen? Will you be 18 by Nov. 3? Are you registered to vote? If not, please register to vote today! We need your help passing the Love Life Constitutional Amendment, which will be on the Nov. 3 ballot, the same day as the presidential election. Both votes are critical!
The fall 40 Days for Life campaign will be held Sept. 23 through Nov. 1 in Louisiana, with prayer vigils will be held in front of the state's three abortion facilities. Vigil registration is under way in New Orleans and Shreveport, and plans for the Baton Rouge vigil should be announced soon by organizers.
Chief Justice John Roberts' opinion in June Medical Services v. Russo is already making a difference. In light of this opinion, a three-judge panel of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals vacated a U.S. District Court decision to issue a preliminary injunction against four pro-life laws passed in 2017 by the Arkansas legislature.
The 2021 Proudly Pro-Life Gala is set for Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, in downtown New Orleans. Benjamin Watson, former tight end for the New Orleans Saints, will be the Proudly Pro-Life honoree and keynote speaker. Will you become a patron or buy tickets?
The seventh annual Chers Bébés: Acadiana’s Soirée for Life, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29 at Cathedral Hall in Lafayette. This year's honorees are Sharon Fontenot and Dr. Kim and Bonnie Hardey. Sponsorships and table hosts are now being sought.
